"Happy father's day!" A little girl dressed completely in pink pounced on her sleeping father, delivering a sloppy kiss to his cheek.
Captain Becker chuckled, groggily opening one eye, "Good morning to you too, Sarah."
Sarah giggled and sat on his chest, smiling down at him. "Good morning Daddy."
Her mother rolled over and raised an eyebrow at her husband, "Don't I get a 'good morning', Becker?" Jess Becker, formally Parker, asked.
"You didn't give me a good morning kiss," Becker replied, holding back a smile at his wife's small pout.
Jess leant over and gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek, lips grazing his stubble. "Happy now?"
"I'll be happy when I can unwrap my present," He gave her a pointed look.
"Well, you can unwrap it now if you want."
"What?" He started, startling Sarah. "Jess, Sarah's here," He whispered, glancing towards their four-year old daughter.
"Thank you for reminding me, honey," Jess rolled her eyes at her husband. "Sarah, can you go get Daddy's present from your room?"
"Yes, Mummy," Sarah jumped off the bed and ran to her room.
Becker ran a finger down Jess' side, tracing her curves. "Somehow I don't think we were talking about the same present."
"I know," She smiled. "But trust me, you'll love this present."
"Can I get exchange it for something else? Cos I'd rather that right now," He pulled her closer to him, smiling devilishly.
She pulled back a little. "This present doesn't work like that."
"What is it?"
"You're gonna have to wait to see it," Jess smiled at his impatience.
"Tell me."
"No."
"Please?"
"Those puppy dog eyes stopped working a long time ago, Captain."
Becker grinned, "They worked last night. I got you to come home early."
"Yeah well…" Jess trailed off, unable to think of a counter argument.
"Got it Mummy!" Sarah ran back into the room clutching a medium sized rectangular package covered in lime green wrapping paper.
"Give it to Daddy, Sweetie," Jess coached her, sitting up.
"Thanks Sarah," Becker took it and started opening it. He'd never been good at waiting for a surprise. He frowned at the object in the box. "Jess…" He looked up to see his wife smiling at him. "Are you…"
She nodded, her smile growing larger, "Yep."
Becker took the blue baby rattle out of the box. "It's a boy?"
"Too early to tell yet," Jess shrugged. "But I have a feeling."
He hugged her, "This is the best present I could have gotten."
Sarah looked at her parents, not understanding what was going on. "Daddy liked it?"
"Yes," Becker grinned. "Daddy liked his present."
