A/N: Hmm... I guess this is just some scattered thoughts. Although it may evolve into a whole story, and I'll have this as a prologue, I'm putting it up as complete for the time being.
Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight or Leah Clearwater. (If I had, Leah would have been a serial killer by now... Stupid Sam and Emily *mumbles curses*)
Story Details: Leah's POV, obviously. Takes place in Eclipse.
Someone once said that the most perfect act of Love is sacrifice.
Leah used to think that the saying held truth, yet, when Sam imprinted on Emily, she discovered that she couldn't find it in herself to back down, and let Sam become happy with the one fate had chosen as best for him.
She developed the philosophy that hearts are selfish. Leah longed for Sam to fight for what they had, even if the effort would hurt him. She wanted to gain tangible proof that their four-years-long relationship had concrete base.
They hadn't been just one more couple of horny teenagers, who were in lust, or puppy-love, and had only been fooling around with each other for reasons of convenience.
To her opinion, they were a couple of people in love, with plans of spending their lives together. They had depth and meaning. They were the real deal. Each other's one and only.
Therefore, she felt wounded when Sam accepted the inprintee, and never tried to stay true to his promises of loving Leah eternally.
The cruelest part of the situation, was the fact that said imprintee was Emily. One of the few people in Leah's life, who were supposed to never harm her.
To given her favorite cousin the credit, Emily had at least tried to fight it, at first. But, to Leah's horror, Sam wouldn't let her. He was persistent, borderline unyielding even, until the girl caved and accepted him.
Just like that, Leah found herself without the man whom she had thought as the love of her life and without her most trusted friend and confidant, whom she had thought would be the one to help her deal with her heartache.
On top of it all, everyone she knew sided with the newly-happy couple. Her Mom, Seth, the Elders, and the whole pack.
Leah became the villain of the story. The hysterical ex-fiancee, that held a grudge for nothing other than her enjoyment of tormenting people's lives.
Thus, Leah concluded that if fate has a sense of humor, then it's a sick/perverse/just-plain-cruel one.
A/N: Yeah, I told you it was nothing special... Thank you for reading... Review if you want.
