"Uh, Mr. Woolsey?" Chuck said a little uncertainly.
"Yes Chet?" This week had been a quiet week for the Atlantis team and Mr. Woolsey didn't like Chet's tone. That was the tone that signaled problems for him.
With a small sigh Chuck continued on, "There is a radiation leak on the West Pier."
"The West Pier?"
"What about the West Pier?" Rodney asked, walking in, "I was just heading there."
"There seems to be a radiation leak." Woolsey told him.
"Let me see that." Rodney shooed Chuck out of his seat, "What is that?" he asked, more to himself than anyone else.
"Well I don't know."
Rodney waved them off, "I know, I'll find out."
"This is bad." Rodney said, staring at the screen, "We need to get a team down there now."
"What is it?" Woolsey asked.
"The radiation is just like the radiation the Stargate gives off.
"Shouldn't we send scientists down there?"
"If this is what I think it is and is doing what I think it is doing, the we need a team of marines down there or something."
"Why?"
"Pull up the life sign scan and focus on the area of radiation."
The screen came up, but the area was empty.
"Dr. McKay, what are you-"
"Look." Rodney cut him off, pointing at the screen. A life sign had just popped out of nowhere in the center of the radiation.
"Rodney, why aren't you geared up to go?" Colonel Sheppard asked, walking in with the rest of their team, "We have to-" But Rodney shushed him, "Did you just-"
"Yeah yeah, now be quiet."
"Rodney, what is going on?" Teyla asked, looking over his shoulder.
"There's another one."
"Sir, the power is out on the West Pier." Amelia said.
"Colonel Sheppard, take your team and Lorne's and go see who it is and what's going on."
"Got it, Rodney get moving."
As they made their way to the West Pier, Rodney quickly explained what was going on.
"If I'm right, someone created a stable wormhole on the west pier and they are sending people through to, I don't know, attack Atlantis or something like that."
"Okay, we'll talk to them first, shoot only if necessary."
"The energy just spiked again, that makes four." Rodney whispered.
The teams were just around the corner from the wormhole. It was completely dark but for the dim green glow from the wormhole. Sheppard made the signals be prepared for anything.
There were quiet footsteps and voices ahead, then there was the cock of a gun, "Lower your weapons." a male voice said.
"You first." Sheppard called.
"Not a chance."
Sheppard peeked around the corner and saw four armed people, one much taller than the other three. "What are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
"Another energy spike." Rodney whispered. And the light in the hallway went out and they were left in complete darkness.
"Wait!" A girl's voice called out, "Everyone, put your weapons down."
"Why?" John called.
"This is all one huge misunderstanding. J.J., put the gun down."
"Don't tell me what to do Ray."
"Don't be mean to her." a gruff voice said.
"Oh sure take her side."
"Just put the guns down, everyone please, lets talk." the girl called Ray pleaded.
"I won't put down the gun until they do." J.J. said stubbornly.
"Neither will we." one of Lorne's men said.
There was an annoyed snort from the girl, "Mer, Sam, Tor, please put your guns down."
"Why Ray?" The gruff voice asked.
"Because we're on Atlantis."
"That's impossible, right Mer." J.J. said.
"Well. . ."
"Mer!"
"It's possible." another girl said in a small voice.
"See, put your guns down, d-everyone."
There was the clatter of guns being put down, so the Atlantis teams put down theirs as well, "now who are you?" Sheppard asked.
"My name is Rachel, and we're here to help you."
"Ray, what in hell are you talking about?"
There was the smack of someone hitting someone else in the face, "Shut up J.J. this was your stupid idea in the first place."
The lights flickered back to life and the Atlantis team found themselves faced with a group of kids. A giant, muscular boy with short brown hair, a slightly less tall, but older, one with long brown hair pulled back, two girls, a short blonde and a taller one with brown hair and another boy with messy brown hair who was shorter than the other two boys.
"Who gave you kids guns?" Rodney exclaimed.
"We're not kids." the boy with the messy brown hair said indignantly, "Well, Ray's a kid."
"You're only twenty! Tor's the oldest and he's twenty-five. Stop acting like you're the leader." The girl, Ray, with curly black hair said.
"Who are you all?" Lorne asked, looking at each of them.
They all exchanged glances, "You mean you don't see the resemblance." The small blonde girl said.
"What resemblance?"
The eldest of the group, the slightly taller one with long brown hair pulled back, walked forward and approached Teyla, "Mother?"
A look of shock passed her face, "Torren?" She asked.
He took her hand, "Yes."
"Wait." John said, "If you're Torren all grown up, then who are you all?"
"Hey dad." Rachel said cheerfully, "Rachel Sheppard and this is my brother John Jr. or J.J. as we like to call him."
John did notice the similarities between the three of them. Both J.J. and Rachel had his blue eyes and J.J. did look like him when he was younger, but Rachel much take after her mother. She hardly looked like him, except for the hair color.
"Meredith McKay." The blonde girl piped up.
"Sam Dex." the tall one with the dark skin and short brown hair said.
"Holy shit." Rodney said, looking in awe at the group before them.
"So you're telling us, that you are our children." Sheppard said.
"Exactly."
"I believe them." Teyla said, looking up at her son.
"Me too." Ronon added.
"How is this possible?"
"Well, the math is really complicated, but we opened a time wormhole." Meredith said.
"Time wormhole, that's completely ridiculous." Rodney said.
"So says the man who theorized it." she shot back.
"I theorized it? Hm, must be possible."
"You theorized it but I made it possible." she said smugly.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty-three."
"Can we find a better place to get acquainted than in this hallway?" Rachel asked.
As they walked to the nearest transport, John fell in with his kids, "So, who is your mother?"
They exchanged glances, "We can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"It might change the future." J.J. said.
"And beside, mom said that if we did see you, not to tell you." Rachel added.
"I would marry a woman who would do that to me."
The Sheppard kids laughed and continued to follow their father.
Behind them were Ronon and Sam. Sam was the spitting image of his father, except for their hairstyles. Ronon still had his dreadlocks while Sam kept his hair short.
"So. . ." Ronon siad.
"Yeah."
It seemed the boy took after his father in more than just looks.
Meredith and Rodney were debating the scientific usefulness of a wormhole without a Stargate.
Torren and Teyla were quietly discussing why the kids were there and how they had messed up.
"We didn't mean to come back to Atlantis. Meredith was mistaken in her calculations. I offered help, but she said I didn't know anything about it and to leave her alone."
"She sounds like Rodney."
"Only when she's working on something. Other than that, she is a. . . decent person. It's her sister you have to watch out for."
"Sister? How many children do we all have? Do you. . ."
"I can't tell you mother, that would change your future. But I can tell you that John has two, Ronon has three and Rodney has two."
"Ronon with three children?"
"Two girls and Sam. The girls are twins. But you have to keep this information to yourself."
"Now why do you have to watch out for the younger McKay sister?"
