Santana finishes dressing and looks at the foggy mirror. She always does this, and she isn't sure why. it doesn't change anything. But it gives her hope. She doesn't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but she's always done it. She can't even remember for how long.

She can't see her reflection in the mirror, but when she extends her arm and places a single finger on the mirror, her hand automatically traces the shape of a heart. Then, and only then, can she see one of her eyes and a few strands of her hair.

She forgets to wipe the heart away like always and leaves the bathroom. It leaves a mark on the mirror, even after it's cleared.

The next day, Brittany walks into the bathroom, sees the heart, and smiles.

(Hope).
