Hey, this is my first Bones fic! It takes place after the episode where Bones and Booth are stuck in the elevator, and afterwards they wrote down what day they thought they would finally be together. This is my version of that day finally coming about.

Feel free to let me know what you think in a review!

Disclaimer: I don't own Bones in any way, shape, or form. I make no profit off of these characters, am only borrowing them for my pleasure!

Today was the day. It felt so odd, but at the same time, it was as though he'd been waiting for it all his life. He didn't even know if Bones would remember. They were going out to dinner, to "talk", but he hadn't told her his real intentions. He just hoped she would be open to it.

Booth heard a knock at his door, and knew that it was her. Smoothing out the material of his dark, button-down shirt, he stepped away from the mirror and made his way to the door.

"Hey," he greeted her, unable to stop the wide grin on his face.

"Hello," she replied, stepping into the apartment. She wore a simple, blue shirt-and-skirt outfit, a few sequins adorning the bottom of her skirt.

"You look great," he told her, his eyes traveling up and down her body.

"You look handsome as well. I enjoy the way that color slims your upper-body," she told him.

Booth chuckled at that, grabbing his wallet off the table by the door and slipping it into his pocket. "You ready?" he asked her.

"I am," she told him, but instead of turning to exit the door again, she set down her jacket and began removing her shoes.

"Uh, Bones, we're eating out, remember?" Booth asked her.

"I thought that given the circumstances, a private meal would be more appropriate," she told him. "I order Chinese food, it should be here in a couple minutes."

Booth stared at her, wondering what she meant. "What circumstances?"

"We both know what day it is today," she explained, rattling off the date with a knowing smile.

"Oh," Booth replied. "... Oh!" Even though he'd wanted to talk to her about it, he was surprised that she was the one bringing it up. He remembered that she'd said she was ready. "You mean ... yes?"

Bones nodded her head. "Yes. You?"

Booth stepped forward quickly, wrapping her in his arms. He lowered his head to pull her into a quick, deep kiss. When he came back up for air, his heart was fluttering a mile-a-minute, and she was looking back at him with happy, haze-filled eyes. "Absolutely." He leaned in for another kiss.

After what felt like hours, a knock on the door interrupted their actions.

"Chinese food," Bones spoke, reluctantly pulling away from him.

Booth sighed, stepping out of her space and pulling out his wallet. He opened the door, nodding briefly at the delivery man. "Thanks," he spoke, pulling a wad of bills out of his pocket and grabbing the box of food. Not caring if he over-tipped him, Booth forced the door closed with a kick of his foot, set the food down on the table, tossed his wallet somewhere by the couch, and grabbed Bones's hand. No explanation was needed as he pulled her into the bedroom, and by the time they came back out, neither one of them was sorry about having to heat up their take-out.

The end. Well, what did you guys think of this fic?
