"Ugh..." Artemis groaned as she propped her ankle up on the pillow.
"Here," Megan said as she placed ice against Artemis' ankle, eliciting a little 'eep!' from her.
"Thanks. I- I just can't believe I was so stupid!" She groans.
Megan smiles. "Don't... Beat yourself up over it?" She stated it as if she was saying the sentence right, and Artemis gave a little nod.
"Alright..."
Megan looked pleased with herself. "Good. Hello Megan! I should go make you some 'Get better, Artemis' cookies!" And with that she flew off towards the team's kitchen, leaving Artemis all alone.
Artemis looked down at her ankle. She really busted it well, and it was swollen a great deal. She could even feel it throbbing! Artemis reached over and tried to grab the TV remote, but it was too far away for her to reach it without moving her ankle.
"Here." Wally comes out of no where and hands her the remote.]
She smiles a little. "Thanks..."
"No problem, but we should probably get this checked out... Can I take you to the doctor's?"
Artemis looked up in surprise, her face thoroughly red. "Uhm... Yeah. I'd really like that."
Wally was all smiles as he bounced up from the couch, and picked Artemis up- bridal style. "Let's go! Hold on." He used his super speed to easily and quickly get to the doctor's, and they only had to wait five minutes until a doctor would take her
"Well," the doctor concluded, after inspecting her ankle, "You sprained it quite well. You'll need to stay off of it for at least three weeks. And," he walked over to the corner of the room to gather some crutches, "you'll need these." He handed them to Artemis.
She took them reluctantly and groaned. She positioned herself on them, and she looked over to Wally. He was grinning slightly, and he was looking at her. Artemis quickly looked away and faced the doctor. "But is this cast really necessary?"
He nodded. "Well, I hope you get better, Artemis." And with those few words he left.
Artemis groaned. "Someone kill me now."
Wally smiled, "Hey now, we don't want that. I especially wouldn't want that," he said taking her hand.
She didn't know how to respond so she just blushed and nodded.
He looked at her, "So... Can I sign your cast?"
"Uhm, yeah." She hopped up onto the inspection table and lifted her leg. Wally held her leg steady with his leg, and whipped out a permanent marker. His body obscured her view so she couldn't see what he was writing, and when he was finally done, he stepped back, looking pleased with himself.
Artemis leaned forward, and looked to see what he wrote. Her leg said, "Artemis, hope you get better. And when you do, me and you are going to the beach together. Love, Wally." And next to his name there was a heart. She looked up, "Wally... Did you just ask me out on a date?"
"Uhm..." Now his face was bright red. "I- I guess..." He mumbled.
She smiled. "Good. I was hoping so. Now, good luck carrying me like this." She winked at him as she walked out of the room and into the reception room.
He just stared at her, and after a while, followed her, a grin on his face.
