I'm alive! There are no excuses, as I said before, I lost my interest into this fandom. However, I recently finished RTTE and it reignited some of the spark I hold for this universe Darn you HiccStrid! Also FanFiction pales in comparison to FIMFiction but that's neither here nor there. SO first off I'm super rusty... Like bottom of the ocean forgotten for 300 years rusty. Tense will probably be a problem till I get my groove back, and I doubt I will be adding any new stories in the near future I will finish all of my existing stories.

Thank you to all the people who read all of my stories and either reviewed, favorited, or followed. Thank you to all those who took the time to send me a PM asking me if I was going to continue. And as Always HTTYD does not belong to me, the mistakes however are all mine.

I don't like ships! The rocking is nauseating, and what Hag, the elder, calls summer storms are terrible! The waves grow huge, and the winds whip the sails all over. Toothless and I have spent more time in the air then on the ship, not that I mind, but Astrid keeps flying up here to drag me down so I can eat. I just take it with me, if I try to eat it while on the ship it just comes back up.

Even the storms are kind of fun, and Astrid even agrees with me there, though how she can do it and not freak out is amazing. Toothless only has a minor risk of being hit by lightning, but Astrid rides a Skrill. It draws power from lightning! So, what does Sigrun do when a lightning storm rages? Well she fills up, that's all fine and good, if she remembers to drop Astrid off.

The first time it happened I heard her scream from a good distance and my heart stopped, Toothless and I raced towards her only to hear her break out in laughter. It's the strangest thing to see a Skrill drawing power from lightning. The lightning still heads to earth, but all around Sigrun it arcs and dances, and Astrid is sitting on her back, hair standing straight, the lightning dancing and arcing around her, She can even swirl the lighting in her hand and it responds! Shortly after the bolt dissipates, and Astrid is still there giggling, a slightly crazed look on her face. Toothless and I fly up beside her, and I call out to her.

"Astrid? Are you okay?" I call, and she turns to me and smiles.

"Never felt more alive," She cries out and laughs, and Sigrun loops through the clouds.

"I think she has lost it," Toothless mutters and I smack him lightly. Neither of us will risk entering the clouds. Lightning flashes, and the outline forms the crazy pattern of a Skrill with a girl on its back. Shortly after the storm subsides and Astrid returns to the same flight level of Toothless and I, a blissful smile on her face.

"That was amazing!" she called out, while trying to get her hair to settle down. I shake my head.

"And they call me crazy, you really shouldn't ride Sigrun into a Lightning storm!" I shouted out, concern in my voice.

"Be at peace," Sigrun calls to me. "I will not let the lightning harm my friend, the night may be your friend's element, but Storms are mine." She finished, her tone reassuring and honest. Not that it's all that reassuring having your wife deliberately fly into lightning bolts. After that day, whenever lightning arcs across the sky, Astrid runs straight to Sigrun, and by this time it has happened so often that I don't longer worry... as much.

The journey to the Burglars village was long, and after 3weeks of travel I had officially worn the saddle out. While Astrid still enjoyed the periodic lighting storms often leaving her hair frizzy and as I was grounded for the last few days of our trip, she would come and find me to comb it. It was a more relaxing experience, siting against the rails nestled together while we chat about our new home, and all that it could be. We often remind ourselves about the war with IT, and how we can fight it, how we can change the archipelago.

On the day, the island came into view, a storm was brewing, and since Toothless was out of commission Astrid invited me to fly with her, after checking with Sigrun of course.

"You're nuts if you're going up with them." Toothless pouted, but nudged me along as Astrid offered her hand. I clambered onto Sigrun, careful to avoid the many spikes that adorned her and with a whoomph we took to the skies. Sigrun bolted for the thunder clouds above, and I clung to Astrid tightly as she grinned back at me while giving my hand reassuring squeeze.

The rain came down hard and lightning flashed all about until finally a bolt came right for us. A few meters before it struck us it splintered into hundreds of smaller bolts, and I got to see firsthand how they darted about, and how every hair on my body shivered and danced. Astrid's hair stood straight up raking my face on the way, sending a tingling sensation racing across my skin. The initial fear I felt was replaced by pure joy and wonder.

I saw as Astrid swirled lighting in her hand, before passing it to her other hand as if it were a ball, I hugged her closely and felt the energy jump and dance between us. She laughed and I reached out to touch the lighting around us, sending the same sensation across my arms. I gathered a small ball in my hand and playfully tossed it up, only to see it condense into a full lightning bolt, much to Astrid and my surprise. Sigrun laughed beneath us, while we just stared at a lightning bolt traveling straight up.

"Careful where you throw those, I can only manipulate lightning from so far away, after that it will return to its normal form," Sigrun chuckles and shakes her head. "I don't often see lightning travel straight up though." * She finishes and Astrid and I just stare at her, the energy we were playing with had dissipated.

After a few more minutes of flying in the storm Sigrun began a gentle descent below the clouds, through the rain and occasion flash of lightning we got our first look at the Bog burglars home, and now our new home as well.

First off it was green, far greener then the northern Berk, some of the trees looked familiar but there was a large section of foliage that I couldn't recognize. Secondly, it seemed rather flat, where Berk had a few "beaches" The Bug Burglar island looked to be mostly beach except the north side, where the ships were aimed. The thought of finding a new cave to call home dwindled with the lack of mountains, but with so many trees there could be our own little paradise hiding under the canopy.

"Hey, Hiccup it looks like Bertha is flagging us down." Astrid called back to me, and after looking down to our sea faring friends I could see Bertha waving her hands frantically in hopes of gaining our attention.

"She probably doesn't want us flying on to the island and scaring her villagers." I explained, Astrid nods before directing Sigrun to head towards the ship. Moments later we make our landing and after hopping off I offer my had to Astrid to help her down as Bertha comes up to us.

"Glad I got your attention, the watch is going to issue a challenge," She glanced over to Hag, who was fumbling with a lamp. "They'll think it odd with so many dragons about and well…" She glanced at me apologetically. "You're the first man to be brought to this island," I raised an eyebrow hoping for clarification. "Right, you'll be the first man to be brought to the village, at least on one of our ships." She gives me a reassuring smile and turns her head to the cliff. Astrid is watching the cliff that is slowly looming ahead, and I start scanning it to. There really isn't and distinguishing features, quietly I ask.

"Where are we heading, I don't see a harbor, or even a channel to sail into." Bertha just smiles, and pulls out a spy glass.

"Not that I don't trust you, but somethings are more fun to see for yourself." I can hear the mirth in her voice and I glower at her as Astrid snickers. "Look lively, the Watch is challenging, Hag be ready with the lamp, Haggy find the Watch page." She calls out and I can see Hag the younger flipping through a small journal.

"Let's see what we have here," Seconds tick past while Bertha grumbles to herself. "Right Dot, Dot, long, long, dot, dot, dot, long Stop" She calls out as Astrid and I share a confused glance. Behind us we can hear Hag the Younger mumbling the series of dots and lines.

"Ha, got it." She smiles and looks over to her mom. "Right the response is Long, long, long, dot, dot, long, dot!" Haggy finishes with a confident smile, while Hag the elder begins opening and closing the shutter on her lamp to correspond with her daughter's response.

"Code, you're using code?" Astrid asks while glancing between Bertha, and Hag the Younger.

"Aye lass, this way we can tell them everything is just peachy and you're not forcing us to do anything against our will." She smiles while gesturing towards the impending cliff face. "Otherwise when we got into the village you would find yourself surrounded by a hundred angry, armed Bog burglars"

With a final smirk she waves us off before shouting orders, their echoed by each ship's captain and soon the ships near what appears to be a solid cliff. Astrid and I take a spot at the fore of the ship, and soon I can make out a slight difference, ahead of the ship there is a small section of the cliff that is slightly off. After a few moments, I let out a small laugh, and after nudging Astrid I point out the area to Astrid.

"There's a channel right there, its where we're are heading." I exclaimed, while Astrid tries to find it. "The far side of the channel curves in the same direction as the cliff face, so unless you're really close you can't see it." I finish as we near the mouth of the channel and Astrid can see what I'm talking about. The walls start to close in as our ship enters the channel and soon everything is eerily quiet.

"We`ll be there soon," Startled, I find Bertha coming up behind us. "If you two want to wash up a bit, you're about to see your new village." She smiles, while Astrid and I look over ourselves. For the most part we look alright, cloths are slightly damp due to the rain, but there isn't much we can do about that. We settle for tiding our hair, or in her case having me tidy her hair, not that I mind.

"How do my scales look" Toothless asks while nudging Sigrun who lets out an exasperated sigh. As we travel further upstream I notice the top of the channel narrowing till it closes, leaving us sailing into the mouth of a large cavern. The only light which is provided by touches recessed into the wall, and I can't help but snicker.

"See everyone loves to live in a cave, they just found a really big one." Astrid nudges me playfully and I hear Toothless grumble from somewhere in the dark. Further into cavern we can start to see a larger concentration of torches, the outlines of stone buildings, and the noises of a busy harbour.

Soon Berthas ship is in sight of the docks, and the dimly lit crowd erupt with cheering, many of the villagers coming out to welcome home their chief, or to see if the rumours are true. As the ship finally bumps against the dock the crowd becomes quiet, in the torch light the Bog Burglars can plainly see Toothless and Sigrun, while looking at the other ships the obvious forms of Spike, and the other dragons could be seen.

"Bog Burglars!" Bertha shouted. "I would like to welcome Hiccup and Astrid Haddock to Bog End, not as guest!" The crowd murmured with excitement and confusion. "But as the newest members of the Bog Burglars!" The crowded erupted into cheers, some of joy and excitement, others of anger and resentment. "But fear not tomorrow night we will hold a meeting to explain this extraordinary inclusion of a male to our tribe." She placated earning her some grumbles of assent.

"now you two, lets show you around your new home." Bertha smiles as Hag the elder lowers the gangplank. "I just know your going to love it."

Told you, rusty! for the most part it is a transitional chapter, again I have the general plan from here, a thinking hiccup, explosive dung, some fluff and some seriousness(as serious as I get so not really?) the final confrontation with it will still be a quite a few more chapters, still lots to do. And please point out any errors, things you would like to have seen, etc. It will take me time to get back into this.

*No, the lightning is not traveling straight up, well it is, but returned to the cloud and becomes another lightning bolt later.
