A/N: Hey guys! So, I finished The Red Pyramid a few weeks ago and fell in love with Anubis. Sadly, I know he's Sadie's. :( This is my first Sanubis oneshot/story, but I'm sure they'll be more in the future. Enjoy!

"Sadie!" my Uncle Amos called to me from the front door. "There's someone here to see you." I grumbled to myself. I really didn't feel like getting up from my comfortable spot on the couch.

"I'm not moving!" I called back, picking up the remote and flipping through the channels. Of course, there wasn't anything on.

"Just come here!" I sighed dramatically, heaving myself off the couch and making my way to the mansion's front door.

"Who is…" I trailed off when I saw who was at the door.

Anubis.

I raked a hand through my hair, suddenly worried about how it looked.

"Hello Sadie," he said to me, smiling softly and looking at me with those annoyingly captivating chocolate brown eyes. I swallowed hard, my heart leaping into my throat, and I suddenly found an interest in my combat boots.

"Come in," I muttered.

Amos closed the door when Anubis stepped inside and walked off, leaving us there alone.

"Sadie."

"Anubis."

Well this conversation wasn't going anywhere.

Suddenly he pulled me into a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around me. I stood there frozen for a bit before realizing I should probably use my arms and hug him back.

"How have you been?" He whispered into my hair.

"Fine." I replied, my voice muffled by his leather jacket. We pulled back from each other, Anubis keeping his hands on my shoulders.

"I think you'll be glad to know that I've studied up on modern courtship rituals."

"Have you now?" I asked him, walking back into the living room. He nodded, sitting on the couch. I sat down next to him.

"I have."

"Wait a minute," I murmured. "How do you have time for that? Aren't you supposed to be weighing souls and stuff? Actually, using that logic, how are you here?"

What was I saying? I didn't want him to leave.

He laughed.

"I suppose I should be 'weighing souls and stuff' but I decided to take a break and come see you." He smiled that perfect smile.

Darn him.

"That's nice," I muttered. We sat there in silence for a few moments, a documentary about Egypt playing in the background. Anubis turned to look at it, a picture of him in jackal form popping up on the screen. He frowned.

"Mmm, they make my head look big there." He picked up the remote and switched off the television.

Then there was just the sound of us breathing and my heartbeat pounding in in my ears. I hoped Anubis couldn't hear it.

"So would you like to know what I've learned?" He asked, looking at me curiously.

"Um…sure," I managed to reply.

He placed his hand on my cheek, stroking it softly with his thumb. He leaned closer to me and I could smell his cinnamon breath.

"Close your eyes Sadie," he whispered. My eyes fluttered closed and I felt Anubis' soft lips on mine. Though the kiss was only a few seconds, I still felt dizzy when he pulled away.

"I-is that all?" I stuttered, mentally slapping myself moments after. He shook his head.

"Oh no. I've learned much more than that." He leaned in again, pressing his lips gently to my neck, slowly making his way up. He kissed my jaw, my cheek and my forehead before pulling me in for another hug.

"How is my knowledge on modern courtship rituals now?" He asked. I was glad that we were hugging; I didn't want him to see my scarlet red face.

"I think you're up to speed."
