Season 5 Episode 4 'The End.'
'The Curiosity of Dean Winchester'
Dean approached the wooden shack with uncertainty, his heart beating slightly out of time in his chest.
'Cas?' He called into the night air. 'Hey, Cas, you there?'
He walked through the beaded curtain into the cabin, finding himself surrounded by the fumes of burning incense. Castiel was standing with his back to Dean and as he turned around, a smile spread across his face.
'Heya, Dean' He said lightly.
'Chuck told me I'd find...' Dean started, but Castiel cut him off; swooping forward and pressing his lips firmly against Dean's, brushing his hands over the hair of his friend.
Dean pulled away, arms raised.
'Whoa, what's going on?' He exclaimed, stepping away from Castiel and attempting to remain calm, 'you just...just ...well, no. what?'
Cas frowned and put his hand on his jaw, clearly thinking. 'Odd,' He said, 'you are not the you of now.'
'Oh, because clearly if I was, I'd be kissing you back,' Dean responded sarcastically.
'Yes.'
'No. What?'
Castiel laughed as the confusion trapped Dean's face.
'So where is my Dean?' Castiel asked.
'Your Dean? Look, dude, I don't know what kind of game you're playing here, 'He responded, hands facing down in front of him, 'but there is no 'your Dean' ok?'
Cas turned away from Dean and ran his hand along the table in front of him, 'You're wrong,' He mumbled.
Dean opened his mouth to respond, but when no words came he snapped it shut again.
'So, when are you from?' Castiel asked.
'Tail end of 2009,' replied Dean, 'Now, just strap on your angel wings and zap me back.'
'I'm not an angel anymore, Dean.'
'Well, why not?'
'I think it had something to do with the other angels leaving, or the fact that I've been acting more and more human; especially around you.' Castiel turned round and stared into Dean's eyes with intensity.
'You know, you keep floating this "there's an us," concept around in my head and I got to tell you; you are wrong, Cas, wrong. There's no "us," ok? Why in the hell would there be?'
Castiel moved closer to Dean; cornering him against the wall, 'You really have to ask that. Of all the times we have found ourselves alone with each other, dependent on each other, desperately looking into each other's eyes…'
'Okay, okay stop it. Stop it right now.' Interrupted Dean, 'Cas, I don't know what all those times meant to you, but to me…well.' He shrugged, unable to finish his sentence.
'To me, they were encouragement towards an ultimate goal.' Began Cas, stepping still closer towards Dean and pinning him against the wall, arms positioned either side of his friend's troubled looking face, 'a way of us coming to terms with our destiny.'
'If it's all the same to you, I tend to screw destiny,' mumbled Dean.
'It's not destiny we'll be screwing.' Responded Castiel, raising an eyebrow.
Dean whimpered but couldn't pull his eyes away from being locked in Castiel's gaze.
Leaning forward, Castiel softly planted his lips onto Dean's mouth, expecting his companion to pull away as before, but curiosity had got the better of Dean Winchester.
