Ed here. I've written a little drabble for fun and to get out of my writing-only-serious-stuff slump. This is something that's always bugged me about the Adventures series. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but this bugged me. And who better to raise the point than Taka?
I am of the opinion that the only reason Turaga have staffs is to smack Toa and Matoran with.
Thanks for reading, and please review! Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Whenua stood before the south gate of the Onu-Metru Archives, about at the end of his patience. "All right. For the fourth time, I am Whenua. I worked here my whole life. I need to get inside and find Tehutti before he does something we are all going to regret a whole lot."

He waited for an answer—

"Excuse me, Turaga Vakama?"

Vakama blinked and looked at Takanuva. "Yes?"

"How could you possibly know what Turaga—sorry, Toa Whenua was doing, feeling, and saying at the time? You weren't there, right? I mean, you just said how you were across the city finding and rescuing Nuhrii. It's not possible to be in two places at once, except maybe with some kind of mask power, but you didn't know your mask power at the time, and—"

Everyone stared at him blankly. "What? It's a valid question!" he protested. "He was nowhere near Toa Whenua at the time, so how could he have known exactly what was going on, down to the last word spoken?"

Vakama was steadily getting more and more annoyed. He'd always had a bit of a soft spot for Takua, but he had also always gotten annoyed at the Matoran easily. This apparently stayed when he became Takanuva. And he was tired, which made him grumpy. He raised his firestaff.

Smack!

"Owwwwwww!" Takanuva whined, clutching his head where Vakama had smacked him. "Turaga, what was that for?"

"Don't ask silly questions," he told him sharply. "I know because Whenua related the details later." He glared at the others. "No more interruptions." Everyone quickly nodded and he cleared his throat to continue his story.
