This is my first ever posted fanfiction. I say posted because I wrote a NaruHina one that I'm not going to put up. I also have another story I started before this. This is just a drabble I thought of when I was half-asleep in my bed this morning, so I thought I'd type it up since I liked the idea. It's about Kotone and Silver since I really like the couple. If you're wondering who Kotone was talking to, it was Gold, and then Gold went to find Kris. It's not that good, but I like the story anyway. Rated T because of the swear word at the end.
Her Strength
She's strong, and he knows it. She's the champion of the region, and he decides he wouldn't have it any other way.
He thinks she deserves it. Even though it hurts him a bit, since he wanted the champion title.
But if it's her, it's okay, he thinks, whenever he sees her smile.
And when she's sitting on the floor, broken and crying, he doesn't know what to do but watch. If she's upset, he feels slightly upset along with her. She has made him the person he is now, after all.
And so he stoops next to her and pats her on the back, awkwardly. But she smiles at him, and he feels that if all he needs to do is cheer her up to see a smile like that, he feels it could definitely be worth it.
He hangs around her a lot now, and she's surprised to see him tag along whenever she steps out to do her daily activities. She's delighted, though, because she loves his company. But she hasn't told him that, because she thinks their friendship would become awkward if it went past being friendship.
So they talk about anything and everything, making sure to keep their feelings in check.
It's when he goes up to meet her like he usually does, that his heart stops beating. She's not alone this time, a boy he definitely knows too well is talking to her. It bothers him because she looks so happy, and he should be happy as well, but he's not.
He wishes it was him, making her so happy. But he isn't cheerful like she is. He knows he could never meet up to her expectations.
He figures that she'd be better off if it wasn't somebody who was always serious, like him.
Even though he doesn't know how wrong his assumption of her feelings is, he turns away, and tries not to look back.
She notices however, and waves goodbye to her friend, who only smiles and waves before heading down the street.
When she finds him, she latches onto his arm, despite his slightly frantic requests for her to let go. She stays latched, however, and proceeds to talk about how she loves the fact that they're friends and how she loves him.
Then she comes off of his arm, and he just stares at her like she has a few screws loose, which he's sure she does. He expected to see her confident like she always is, but this time she looks embarrassed and nervous.
But he's happy.
And he smiles. It's really small, but it's there, and she feels like it's something he should do more often.
And she laughs, and he wonders why he fell in love with an idiot.
But he supposes it doesn't matter, since he figures he's an idiot as well.
"I love you!"
"Dammit, Kotone, I love you too."
