I am so excited I can finally sleep. Amuto Fanfiction plauged my dreams so now I have to write a story about it. Embarassing really. I usually am more selfcontained. Discliamer: I don't own Shugo Chara or any of the Characters Associated with it. Arika is an original Characters... That pretty much sums it up. I'd give a summary, but i don't know where this rollercoaster will end. Ikuto has finally come back for Amu, but she has apparently moved on with her life and is now studying as a foreign exchange student in the United States. Will Ikuto keep his word and do everything in his power to find her? Will she still be waiting for him? R&R

The orchestra swelled in its final bars before ending in silence, letting the final note resonate through the opera house. The crowd roared with applause standing as the orchestra took their final bow. It was finally over. The tour had finished, and Ikuto Tsukiyomi was more than happy to finish his final night back home in Japan. As the crowd disappated through the exit he looked around in hopes to find the one girl he thought of each moment he was away. He packed his violin up and exited the opera house skipping the final blowout after show party. As he walked out into the parking lot he was overwhelmed with a welcoming greeting.
"That was absolutely beautiful." His sister said wrapping her delicate arms around him. "I hardly recognized you on stage."
"She's right. It truly was impressive." Tadase said standing proudly with an open hand for Ikuto to take. "Welcome home."
Ikuto shook his hand and smiled. "It is good to see you too." He looked beyond Tadase and smiled seeing a familiar face. "Hello Midori Hinamori."
She embraced him in a tight motherly hug, "Ikuto, welcome home. I'm so glad to see you've grown up so well."
"Thank you." Ikuto replied returning the hug. When she released him he looked around once more. "Where is Amu?"
Midori's smile drooped a little. "You never recieved any of our letters did you?"
"I was moving around frequently, so I never recieved any mail. Why? Where is she?"
"She's in America."
Ikuto stood slightly stunned. She wasn't here. He had come back to find her, and she was gone. "America?" He said still stunned.
"She decided to go to school in the United States." Tadase said trying to ease the awkward moment. "You wrote to her so vividly about how beautiful the country was. She couldn't stop talking about it for weeks. She had pictures of places she wanted to go, things she wanted to experience, and had even found a foreign exchange student program to attend."
"I see." Ikuto's heart felt like it was collapsing. He had his heart set on finally seeing her again. All his dreams about this day, were crushed. She had left, and he feared that she had forgotten him.
Ikuto shook his head finally snapping out of his own thoughts as Midori placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's quite late. Do you have a place to stay?"
Ikuto then noticed his family and friends had already bid their farewell for the evening and gone off to their own seperate vehicles. "I figured I would just get a hotel for the night. There's really no point being a burden on anyone when I can afford a place to sleep on my own." He said trying to keep his inner sorrow hidden from the woman.
"Nonsense. With Amu gone, we have plenty of room for you to stay. Besides, I'm sure my husband and Ami would be delighted to have you over."
"Thank you." Ikuto said forcing a smile. "I would love to spend time with you family."

"Amu wake up." Arika said flicking the bedroom light on. "Your cellphone has been beeping non stop for almost an hour now."
Amu's eyes fluttered open and she yawned slapping her hand over the cellphone. "Why is it not on silent in the first place?" She grumbled staring at the screen. The screen flashed showing she had five unread messages. "Tadase?" She yawned opening the first message. Get Online. She then opened the second message. WAKE UP PLEASE AMU. You need to get online. She continued to read the other three before finally swinging her legs over the end of the bed.
"Who is texting you this early in the morning?" Arika yawned stuffing her head back under her pillow.
"Tadase must have forgotten about the time zone's again." Amu grumbled walking over to her desk. She quickly typed in the Skype address and waited until Tadase appeared on the screen.
"Finally." He said sighing in relief.
"Tadase, It's like five in the morning here. What is so important?"
"I'm sorry I woke you up but I had to tell you something. Ikuto is home finally. His final performance was tonight."
"That's wonderful." Amu yawned running her hand through her messy hair. "I'm sure he is really happy to be home. Now can I please go back to bed?"
"Thats not why I wanted to talk to you." Tadase said feeling a little put out.
"Then what?" Amu whined. It was too early to function and she found it very rude that Tadase did not think about the time difference.
"Ikuto spent the time he had with us, looking around for you."
Amu shook her head as the words finally sunk in. "What do you mean, looking for me?"
"Ikuto didn't know you left. He was hoping you would have been at the concert." Tadase said feeling a little better knowing that Amu was finally understanding what he was trying to get at.
"He stopped writing to me several months before I left. Why would he want to know where I was at? He's out grown me. For god's sake its been six years Tadase."
"Exactly. Amu, you're an adult now. It took six years but you're legal. He can't feel guilty about what he felt about you anymore."
"Thats just great." Amu groaned slapping her hand against her forehead. "This is absolutely perfect."
"Is everything okay?" Tadase asked frowning slightly.
"Ya, I'm just really tired. Thanks for letting me know Ikuto came home Tadase. I have to go back to sleep though, I have school in a few hours."
"Okay. Take care of yourself Amu." Tadase frowning slightly. "Tell Arika 'Hi' for me."
"Morning Tadase." Arika groaned waving in the background.
"Goodnight." Amu said. He nodded at her before the screen went blank.
Amu turned the computer off and sighed as she flicked the lights off. "What's got you down?" Arika asked as Amu climbed back into bed. "Did it really bug you that Tadase wanted to tell you about his friend?"
"No Arika, it isn't that." Amu moaned covering her face. How could this happen? she thought to herself. I didn't think he had actually meant any of what he said.
"I will find you." He said caressing her cheek."Is he cute?" Arike asked curiously.
"I don't know really. I haven't seen him in so long. I was surprised he even remembered me."

"Are you sure you don't mind Midori?" Ikuto asked as he was led to Amu's empty bedroom.
"I really don't mean to impose."
"Not at all Ikuto. You are always welcome here." She said politely as she opened the door. "If you need anything, don't be afraid to ask."
Ikuto shut the door behind him and walked across the room silently dropping his bags at the foot of the bed. In six years, it hadn't changed. He picked up one of her pillows and pressed it to his face smelling the faint scent of Amu's shampoo. He closed his eyes thinking about the last time they had sat together in this room. It felt like a lifetime ago.
He stood up and walked over to her desk. Pictures of her all through high school with her friend lined the back wall. She had changed her hair color letting it sit a warm brown with pink streaks flowing smoothly amongs the layers. He smiled thinking of how beautiful she had become, how beautiful she had always been. His fingers slid across the desk resting on a leatherbound book. He opened it curiously flipping through the pages. Each one with a different date and her hand writting preciously covered the pages. December 16th,
It's hard to believe I am leaving for school in a few months. Ikuto had written about how beautiful America was and I am so excited to finally see it. I wish we were doing it together. I wish he knew I was going to be where he had been, see what he has seen. I wonder if he still thinks of me. I miss him.
April 3rd, Ikuto hasn't written to me for three months. I think he has forgotten about me. It will be okay. Now it's my turn to forget about him. He probably forgot about his promise anyway. It was a stupid thing to hope for. Why I even kept hoping for a letter is beyond me. I still wish he would have gotten one of my letters. I've decided to leave everything that reminded me of him behind. This is another reason why I won't be taking you. His name is covered all over your pages. I just pray things will be different when I leave. I hope I will be free from his promise. I love him. Now I need to let him go. On the bright side, I'll be home June of next year. I hope you won't miss me too much. Don't get lonely. If you do, remember, I love you!
This is the last time I will write in you for a while. I decided I would write in a new journal in America. This way I could keep my adventures separated. Mom and Dad are seeing me off at the airport this afternoon. I'm flying to Tacoma Washington. I know it isn't the big grand New York Ikuto spoke of, but I am sure I will get there eventually. He spoke passionately about Seattle as well and I believe the city will be more to my liking.

Ikuto shut the diary and set it back on the desk. "She wanted to forget about me." He said feeling his heart sink. "She thought I had forgotten her, that I didn't love her." He sat down and opened the side drawer of the desk. A stack of unopened letters dated to her sat wrapped with a rubberband. Each one with the same handwriting. They had been from him. Each dated after she had left. One that had been sent from Paris the day she left. It didn't make it in time. He picked up the letter and placed them on the desk. Beneath his letter had set a dusty old purse. He opened it revealing four intricately designed eggs. "The girls." He said thinking of Amu's would-be-selves. He still carried Yoru's egg with him, and he smiled thinking that Amu's guardians were safely protected. He carefully shut the case and put it aside to find an even larger stack of letters. These letters were addressed with to him. Each one stamped with a 'return to sender.'
Ikuto carried the letters back to the bed and sat with them in his lap. Was it wrong of him to open the letters? They were for him. Did he really want to read any of them? His heart was torn. He had already felt like he had lost her. Yet here he sat with letters addressed to him. Each one written by her.
Ikuto slipped the rubber band off the letters and opened the first letter that was dated not long after he left. His fingers trembled as he unfolded the delicate paper. Her hand writing almost childish as he looked at it. He smiled as he scanned over the page and pressed his lips to it once he had finished. He reread the final paragraph once more overcome with a feeling of peace.
I'm here again, a thousand miles away from you. But that doesn't change that I still love you. That I wait for you to come home to me. I may be shattered pieces but when you call, you will make me whole. I love you Ikuto and I hope you love me too. Until you find me, I will always wait for you. Please, Ikuto, please find me.
I'll be waiting for you,
Amu Hinamori
