Commish – Drabble

New Life

Rain. A simple sort of a new start. A way to wash away all the bumps and bruises. To make things right and do things differently. However, rain can also make things worse. It can muddy things up further and make them broken and swept under the rug. A double-sided coin of life.

That's why as the rain sprinkles down upon a silver head of hair, that belongs to such an important individual, golden eyes look upwards. They stare up as the rain falls down, landing on his face and rolling down over his jaw. He admired the rain, feeling as though he knew it better than anyone else, for he created and destroyed as well.

His shoes dodged the puddles, more of habit than need, for his pant legs are already blotched with water. The sun above stays hidden far behind the deep gray clouds, casting shadows off of every corner. He feels as though they're reaching for him, wanting to take him back into the darkness where he'll have solace and hurt no one ever again.

As he walks, he doesn't notice the amber eyes locked on his back. Nor does he hear the heart that beats for him and how those amber eyes appear beaten and worn from being broken over and over again. When the silver haired man turns a corner, he doesn't even realize that he's just turned into a dead end. It's too late though.

His back is slammed into the brick wall as long, cerulean tresses eclipse his view. Liquid gold eyes hold bundles of more emotion than the blank face hovering before his own. The scar resting between the blue-haired one's eyes is barely visible in the shadows of the alley, although it doesn't even make the elder against the wall flinch. "Saix?"

"Xemnas." is all he says before smashing his lips against Xemnas'. The latter raises his arms from his side, at first intending to shove Saix away, but ending up wrapping them around the slim waist, keeping Saix close. Saix pulls away, breath coming in a soft pant as he rests his forehead against Xemnas' shoulder. "I hate you."

"I'm sorry."

Droplets splash down on them, time seeming to have slowed at those two words, baffling Saix to no end. He hadn't expected it. Wasn't looking for those words at all. He had just wanted to tell the other how much he despised Xemnas for leaving him broken and alone.

"I won't do it again."

Saix takes a sharp step back, fists clenched at his sides. His head bows slightly, confusing rippling through his brain, as if those words were pebbles thrown into a pond. He was simply going to face his demons, not fall back into the same routine to make new ones.

Xemnas sighs heavily, "I am sorry. I don't want to hurt you ever again." He steps forward, pulling Saix forward as he wraps his arms around him. At first, Saix's muscles are on edge, the ideas to push this monster away growing. But, he realizes that he's just as monstrous and he relaxes against the built frame, head tilted up so that lips can press against hi, accepting the other for all he is and nothing more.

Sometimes rain washes away pieces of our broken hearts...and we can only hope that the pieces it takes are the ones we'd rather not remember.
