In Peril

Dean's face broke out into a slick sweat as the tip of the knife pierced the skin at his throat. He felt blood well and trail a scalding path down his neck. He reluctantly swallowed, which drove the tip a little deeper.

"Do it," he muttered.

"No," she whispered, licking her lips. "I've got something better planned for you." She removed the knife. "That would be too quick. I want to hear you…scream."

So fixated was she on her prey, she failed to see Sam sidle up behind her. It was her scream that echoed when a different knife plunged.
