A wry grin crept across John Winchester's mouth when he glanced into his rearview mirror and noticed his boys fast asleep on the backseat. Sam's head was almost resting in Dean's lap, and John couldn't help but to notice the reaction his brother's nearness was having on Dean even in his sleep. There was a certain bulge in his oldest son's pants that John knew the boys thought he would hate them for if he ever witnessed it or its cause, but he'd known their secret for years and would always support them.
Bobby turned in his seat and glanced over his shoulder at the boys. He didn't notice the rise in Dean's jeans, but he did see the pure joy of the smiles on their handsome, young faces and the way their legs wrapped together. He chewed silently as he reflected that they were wrapped together much the same way as the parts of the pretzel he was currently munching.
John glanced at Bobby out of the corner of his right eye as he returned his left eye to the road. "Remind you of anythin'?" he asked as he wondered silently how many nights he and Bobby had spent together wrapped in near the same type of pretzel-like position. It had been so long since they had had any time to call their own.
Bobby smiled and nodded but then he put his snack mix bag down, unbuckled his seat belt, and slid over to his love's side. "Yeah," he said softly, his mouth suddenly almost at John's ear. He snuggled into his side and laid his hand upon his thigh. That was all the encouragement John needed to forego his determination to make it to their destination in a single night as he instead turned off at the nearest motel.
The End
