She believes in her cause, because without it (him), well it feels too much like she'll take that stumble off the edge of the world- then she'll just be falling and falling.

(And falling)

So she needs this burn that fills her up with something like a feverish delirium because it keeps her going. It holds steady the faith that everything happens for a reason, and this (what her and Justin have; a connection so deep there's no bottom, no limits) is apart of that. It's just in fate's cards that they feel how they do, touch how they touch.

They love how they love.

Alex needs that rationalizing to hold back the guilt, the shame threatening to infect her brain. She needs it to stay selfish and continue to go after him (claim him as her own though he would never be anyone else's, not really) because at first, he reacted exactly how she thought he would. Abject horror and avoidance.

Justin Russo- thy name is predictable (and dork).

It took two months and one week for her to completely break down his doubts, and his fears, and his morals, and his resolve, and whatever else that stood in her way. Basically a decent portion of everything that makes him exactly who he is (and -gag- what she loves) but it was an necessity if she was going to get what she wanted (him). It was a lot of cat and mouse- you can guess who got assigned what role.

But after many well-timed smoldering stares, lingering touches, magically induced dreams and finally a painfully arousing make out session, he was hers.

Fully.

They came up with signals to keep the whole thing hush-hush. Justin had first volunteered using a secret language but that was quickly vetoed because hello- lame. So instead they came up with signals set up around their fights. Because they had to keep up normal appearances and what was more normal than the two of them fighting, right?

Insults about looks meant to meet up in the lair twenty minutes from whenever the comment was made.

Arguments about school meant they'd be having a study session in the library (she pleaded her case against the location but he refused, saying their was something undeniably hot about making out in a library to which she countered with 'duh look who you are making out with' and then gestured wildly to herself.)

Full blown fights that ended with Justin getting the last word meant they'd be sharing his bed that night, the ones that ended with her putting him in a headlock meant they'd be wrapped up in her sheets instead.

Of course this system was heavily flawed (which he annoyingly pointed out all the time) because it was still the two of them and they still had a huge amount of actual fights which led to a lot of miscommunication about what was going up and really being said.

But it works for them so they'll ride it out.

Until everything falls apart.
