A cocky smile hides the deep loneliness within

Laughter hides a sadness centuries old

Confidence masks the terrible uncertainty

Afraid of the future and ashamed of the past

Are you tired of your unending path?

The trail ahead is lined with dangers

You love the fight and hate it too

There is no escaping your destiny

However much you wish it to be so

Will you put down your weapon and surrender life?

Lives pass through your fingers like grains of sand

Whirling past while you remain unchanged

Age touches not your beautiful face

But your soul bears the marks of the unending years

Do you wish for a mortal life?

The traitor smiles at you with eyes of flint

Comrade and ally turned enemy and foe

Love that you once shared turned to malice

Friendship lies in flaming ruins

Could you destroy your former friend?

Loss is your constant companion
