Teddy sat on the front porch of the Duncan's house, staring blankly at the sunset that painted the sky in front of her. Her blue eyes were stormy with emotion, tears glistening in the corners. The light sound of the door shutting behind her didn't cause Teddy to turn around, in fact she barely heard it. It wasn't until the form of her older brother PJ sat down next to her did she move at all, and that was to sniffle softly.

PJ leaned back against the porch support, and the wooden planks beneath him creaked gently. Teddy could feel his gaze on her, and knew that he was waiting for her to talk when she was ready.

They were both silent for a while, Teddy trying to figure out when to start, and PJ just watching her.

"S-Spencer cheated on me" She choked out after taking a deep breath, ignoring the stabbing pain in her heart. Hiding her face in her arms, Teddy screwed up her eyes, trying not to cry. PJ didn't say anything, just shifted forwards and wrapped his arms around her tightly. Teddy felt warmer, she needed to be held. This was what she needed, and PJ just new. That was what made him the best big brother ever.

"I heard from Ivy" PJ murmured. "She called earlier to see how you were taking it" Teddy let out a sob, followed by another. PJ held her tighter.

"He didn't deserve you Teddy" PJ continued, and Teddy could feel his chest vibrating as he spoke.

"I-I know, b-but I really liked him" She said, her small voice muffled by PJ's shirt.

"I know, shhh" PJ wrapped his arms around his little sister and stroked her back. It was rare that PJ was serious, but when he was he could actually be really caring underneath all the peanut butter and jelly stains.

"What did y-you do when Shanelle b-broke up with you?" Teddy asked, head face still buried in her brother's chest. Shanelle was PJ's ex-girlfriend, who dumped him for a jock on the football team last year.

"Well... I cried for a while, then I realized she wasn't right for me and moved on" PJ replied. Teddy sat up and gave a watery laugh.

"I wish it was that easy for girls" She mumbled.

"Don't worry, you'll find some cool guy who'll make you laugh a ton and love you forever" Pj scooted over and ruffled his sister's hair, succeeding in messing it up.

"You're the best, but you know I hate it when you do that" Teddy tried to say in a menacing tone, but ended up just sniffling.

"Yep" PJ replied, scooting back to lean against the porch support again.

"I better go get cleaned up" Teddy said, standing and wiping her nose. "I look like a freak"

"That's nothing new" PJ teased, standing as well. Teddy laughed and wrapped her arms around her brother's waist.

"Just think" Teddy mused. "I a few years I bet Gabe will be doing this for Charlie" PJ smiled.

Suddenly, a loud crash was heard from inside the Duncan house.

"MOM! CHARLIE DREW ON MY FAVORITE SHIRT!" Gabe yelled at the top of his lungs.

"This I have to see" PJ said, giving his sister a squeeze then running inside.

Teddy stood on the porch, watching the last of the sun's rays disappear and the darkness set in. She sighed.

"Good luck Charlie"
