Disclaimer: I do not own Drake and Josh.

A/N: POV of a student present during Drake's freakout in Josh is Done. Original timeline for a fanfic, no? XD Just a drabble.

As horrible as it must have been for the guys concerned, The Incident really did explain a lot.

For example, I had thought that Josh didn't know that Drake spent a great deal of time taking advantage of him. I'd thought that Drake hadn't known it, either. I thought they were mutually idiots (one moreso than the other) and terminally thick when it came to each other. But, apparently, they were both aware of the situation, and during The Incident the rest of the class became violently aware of it as well.

The devastation on the face of the sopping-wet Drake showed me something else, too: that these brothers meant more to each other than anyone had ever meant to me, and possibly more than anyone ever would.

In that moment, his face explained why they touched so much (man-hugs and back slaps don't have to mean anything, but with them it had always seemed like they just did). More, it explained the way they looked at each other like there was no one else in the world, like nothing else mattered but them. They were possessive, protective looks until their eyes actually met and then they were tender and soft and I swear if one of them was a girl I would have figured it out a long time ago.

It was just hard to get past the idea that Drake, the Drake, the man who had made out with every attractive girl in the school, was in love with his own brother. It was equally hard to accept that Josh, the Josh, the man who did everything in his life perfectly, returned the feelings.

It wasn't just teenager-y feelings, either. It wasn't like all of Drake's other relationships that lasted two weeks or only until he got tired of her naked body.

It was actually love. As if they couldn't exist without each other.

They were each other's other half and that became blindingly obvious to me and everyone else in the known universe at the moment Drake ran from the room, dripping from the chemical shower.

When the teacher asked if Josh wanted to go after him, my world fell apart a little bit when he declined. I could hear in his voice how empty he felt. I barely knew Josh- he's so out of my GPA league- and I could tell.

The question remained if they knew how they felt. Maybe after that, when they came back to school the next day as if nothing had ever happened, they finally realized what they meant to each other. Maybe. Or maybe Drake is too dense to figure it out and Josh is too smart to let himself figure it out. That sounds like them: deny it all until one day they're fighting and the emotion spills out until they're kissing and then they finally make the connection.

Whatever happens with them in the (not so) distant future, I'm just glad that they resolved the 'Josh being done with Drake' crisis, because without our Ambiguously-In-Love-Brothers archetype, I'm pretty sure the school wouldn't know how to function.
