Oh, how he longed to make her his. He wanted, no, needed her with every fiber of his immortal being.
But, she was a mortal, while he was a god. A never-dying god. She would fade away, but he would live on forever and ever and ever.
And if it's not that, it's the stupid The Oracle must be a maiden rule that Gaia created before he became the patron of the oracle. It wasn't fair. Every day, just being with her taunted him.
But he would never do that to her.
She wanted to be with him. She adored him, despite the false hatred that she pulled off. It was all a mask. A barrier to keep her from getting hurt again.
He promised he would love her, but she knew that was a lie. He must've told every oracle that. He would find another helpless maiden, and eventually leave her in the dust.
He'd promised he would never use her, betray her, break her heart. She almost believed him for a second, but her heart knew better this time. She'd alright been hurt by that oh-so-wonderful son of Poseidon, and she didn't want to be hurt by him.
Because it would hurt her far more.
Still, in the bottom of her heart, she had to admit, she still loved that wonderful son of Poseidon. His messy black hair, mesmerizing green eyes, oh, they were enough to make a girl weak to her knees.
But what about his blonde, blonde hair, his smile as bright as the son, his sparkly blue eyes that looked like little sapphires. He was gorgeous; every girl's dream.
Including hers.
But, they were opposites. Like fire and ice. Earth and air. Sun and moon. She was spunky, kind-hearted, and humble, whereas he was arrogant, cocky, and stuck-up.
Or was he?
To everyone else, yes, he was. But to her, he was amazing. Sweet, loyal, caring, and just a mesmerizing as that son of Poseidon.
She loved him, and he loved her.
But their love was forbidden, like the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Just barely in their touch. They wanted to be together, but the Fates had other plans.
So, they went on with their regular lives, her being the Oracle of Delphi, him being the sun god.
And eventually, she did fade, and he did find another girl, but he never forgot her. He still missed her sweet, yet sinister smile, her frizzy red hair, her emerald green eyes.
And she chose to be reincarnated. A second chance for them, perhaps.
And maybe, just maybe, the Fates would be to their advantage this time.
