Chapter 45: And Then There Were...

Everything was going well legally speaking. In the past month the court coverage was receiving National attention which was great for achieving guilty verdicts but horrible for the Humphreys everyday life. Blair couldn't take Milo to the park or try him back at school without the media vans and flashing camera's disrupting their attempts so police coverage was aided to them, which did help some. Although there were a few that always seemed to slip through the cracks from time to time.

One time Dan and Blair had been in bed together blissfully unaware of the camera man perched outside their bedroom window. Blair had noticed him first. It had been a long time since he had seen Blair that infuriated. She was up, covering herself in a sheet and had her arm through the window and around his camera strap before the poor young camera man had any idea. He threatened to file charges against her once she had his camera inside. She shut the window and flipped him off, then picked up her phone to call the detectives handling the security.

"Yes. This is Blair Humphrey. We got another one on the roof near our bedroom window."

She then hung up and looked down at her husband who was wearing grin. Behind her the photographer ran past their window followed by a security officer.

"What?" She smiled innocently. "It was rude and he is lucky I didn't shove him off the roof."

Dan pulled her back down onto the bed crushing her body to his.

"It was fucking hot is what is was." He laughed before kissing her deeply.

She grinned against his mouth, smug with his approval.

"Well maybe I could wave my new gun around next time."

Dan chuckled against her mouth.

"I still can't believe you bought that."

"I have the permit too." She beamed making him laugh harder.

"Well, all I know is that I feel so much safer." He said running a hand through her long brown hair.

"Good. Happy to hear you say that because I have to leave the bed." She smiled sitting up hugging the sheet around her.

"What!" Dan protested in indignation. "Milo is out with your mom for the first time in a month and we have the whole morning!" He sat up kissing her shoulder.

"Dan we already christened the morning, love. More than once…and I totally forgot that Erin is picking me up to go shooting."

Dan fell back on the pillows.

"Ahhh your step-sister." He sighed defeated.

Blair and Dan had come to find out that Erin Lindsay was in fact Cyrus's daughter. She had been the entire reason for Cyrus's nerves in returning to Chicago. Blair didn't know the exact details but at some point Erin had figured something was amiss and had intensely questioned Detective Voight and Cyrus together. Blair laughed to herself remembering Cyrus introducing Erin officially at family brunch last week. She had run up and hugged Erin tightly, very happy to hear that the woman who had helped her rescue Milo was not only a decent woman but also family.

"Yes. My step-sister." Blair smiled to herself and got off the bed taking the sheet with her, leaving a naked Dan defenseless against the cold. Dan sat up and grabbed the tail end of the sheet and pulled making Blair stumble back towards him. "Daniel Humphrey." Blair glared playfully. "What on earth do you think you are doing?

Dan pulled again making the sheet drop below her breasts. He grew hard at the site of her.

"Blair…" he started in a low growl.

She looked up at him meeting his eyes. She knew she needed to get ready, but whenever he said her name like that…

"Dan…" she wined knowing she was going to lose.

Dan slowly pulled the sheet, hand over hand, making Blair come closer and closer. She watched his eyes travel over her body and she let the sheet drop completely when she reached the bed. He leaned forward and kissed her belly, his hands traveling over her skin around her hips gripping her naked bum, squeezing. She let her hands run through his hair, tugging and pulling like she knew he liked, letting her head fall back as his mouth traveled lower. He lifted her leg to get better access and she just bought fell to the floor at the sensation. It didn't take long for her to come and when she did she craved more—needed more. She slid onto Dan's lap straddling him, guiding him into her. Dan's head fell back, the pleasure she gave him all over his face. She brought his head back up making his eyes meet hers as she slowly started to move against him.

"You kill me." He whispered leaning his forehead against hers. "You…oh god Blair…" he moaned as she rolled her hips from side to side and back and forth in a slow deliberate pattern. She could feel him fighting to hold on, to last, and she challenged him to. She slowly quicken the pace building them both up. When she knew she couldn't last any longer she shoved him back onto the bed, rocking her hips feverishly making them both cry out. She collapsed against his chest, her sweat making her stick to him pleasantly.

"Now I definitely need a shower." She purred against his chest happily.

"Mmmm." Dan agreed. "Me too."

She could hear the meaning in his voice.

"Daniel Humphry!" She looked up at him laughing.

"What?!" He laughed looking innocently at her. "All I said was that I needed a shower too!"

Blair was running late of course. She would have been on time if Dan hadn't of joined her in the shower. She let her head fall back against the car seat and closed her eyes remembering his touch and the way his wet body had felt against hers. She felt herself flush at the thought and laughed. She couldn't get enough of him. It had been a month since she had gotten him back, but she still couldn't get enough. As if losing him had made her appreciate him more, love him more. Besides, they were trying to have a baby. The thought scared her and excited her. She had never pictured herself as a mother. Not until Milo.

The car pulled up to the curb and she could see Erin waiting for her on the sidewalk. She beamed and hopped out of the car.

"Erin!" Blair called out getting her attention.

Erin smiled back walking over to her and embraced her.

"It's good to see you again!" Erin smiled happily.

"Yes! It is. Sorry I'm late! Dan…well…he…" Blair blushed. "…um yeah thank you for taking the time to take me shooting. I know you are busy visiting with Cy, but I really only feel comfortable with you…"

"Say no more." Erin threw her hands up protesting. "Besides in Chicago I promised I would, didn't I?"

Blair laughed but remembered that moment well. She had been desperate to get Milo and Dan back. Desperate and pissed off.

"Still. I know your time is limited. When are you going home again?" Blair asked as they walked over to the doors.

"Saturday." Erin answered opening the door for them. "But believe me, I would like to visit longer."

"You are Cy seem to be having a good time." Blair agreed walking through the door.

"I guess when you find out who your father is you want to know as much as possible. Like if you learn all you can about him, you find out more about yourself." Erin sighed walking in behind Blair.

"I can see that." Blair agreed following Erin up to the counter to get in line. "I don't know who Cy was in the past—I can't answer that—but I do know that now he is a wonderful man, who loves my mother, and puts up with me."

Erin laughed at that.

"He is wonderful. Voight told me details and so did Cyrus. I mean they were both young and stupid—and my mother still is…" Erin rolled her eyes. "…but being her in the city getting to visit with him and your mom…well it's helped me in some kind of way that I never thought possible. Like I'm finally complete."

Blair smiled and felt tears sting her eyes at Erin's words.

"Annnd you inheritrated a pretty bad ass sister who needs you to teach her some gun skills." Blair teased stepping up to the desk.

"Yes." Erin laughed. "That too."

Dan busied himself around the house, trying to pass the time before Milo returned from his playdate with Grammie Nor as he started calling her. Dan laughed to himself thinking about all the progress and the changes Milo had made in the past month. It had been Blair and his goal to keep Milo far away from the Court and trial proceedings and let him feel as normal as possible after his life had been tossed upside down. Blair had insisted he see her child psychologist. Dan had at first hesitated, but after the third night of Milo's nightmares, he agreed. It was still a work in progress, but Dan was hopeful. At least he was over the fear of some unseen force was going to steel him away again. Dan still felt his heart break at the look of despair and fear on Milo's face when Blair tried to take him to the park for the first time after the kidnapping. She had caved of course and made him hot chocolate to calm his nerves, all the while making sad eyes at Dan. They had known he would have repercussions from the events, but living through them the last month had been rough. Since the nightmares had started Dan had barely had any private time with his wife. The last time he had touched her had been the night of their return. Before Milo's first nightmare. From that point on, the only time Milo would sleep through the night was when he was nestled between Dan and Blair.

Dan reached down and picked up a couple comic's that Milo had had out. He glanced at them both and chuckled. It looked like there were going to be buying Milo a Spider Man mask.

Blair was a natural of course. Who would expect anything less? She had impressed Erin with her shooting skills and had bid her fair well, promising her to stay in touch as she hopped into her private car service.

"Back home Edward." She smiled. Edward had nodded and started them off into New York City traffic when Blair felt it. The surge of nausea was so instant and strong she feared she was going to vomit all of the back of the car's leather seats. "Pull over!" Edward did as she requested and she opened the car door and vomited all of her breakfast on the side of the road. As soon as she had finished, the feeling instantly disappeared. She felt better. She shut the door in utter disbelief, leaning back onto the car seat.

"Are you ok Mrs. Humphrey?" Edward asked concerned.

"Just fine Edward." She forced a smile at him. "Can you stop at a convenience store along the way?"

Blair entered the loft slowly looking around for Dan. She could instantly tell he had been cleaning. She loved that man.

When she shut the loft door, Dan came out of their bedroom holding a laundry basket.

"How was it?" He smiled walking up to her.

"It was fun." She smiled back. "I bested Erin one of the times."

"Who would have expected anything less?" Dan leaned in to kiss her.

She instantly pulled back remembering that not 20 minutes ago she had vomited her entire breakfast on the side of the road.

"Whats wrong?" Dan looked at her confused.

Blair didn't answer but reached into the plastic bag she was holding and held up a pregnancy test in front of them. Dan's mouth dropped open in shock.

"I just threw up my entire breakfast for no reason." Blair whispered.

"You think your…?" Dan started. Blair could hear the excitement in his voice.

"I don't know." She answered opening the container. "But soon we will."

They both were in the bathroom. Her on the toilet seat and him leaning against the sink. The excitement and shock of the situation had rendered them both speechless. In less than a minute they would know…they would know if they were going to be adding to the Humphry family.

"Dan…" Blair started, her voice barely above a whisper, "…I'm kind scared."

Dan bent down in front of her, brushing a free stand of her hair away from her face. The endearing gesture was familiar and made her move closer. He wrapped his arms around her and she gladly entered his embrace.

"I know. It's going to be another adventure." Dan whispered against her ear.

"I know that we want this. I want this. I do!" Blair said as if almost trying to convince herself. "But we just got Milo back and are trying to help him through this transition and heal the damage Georgina and Dimitri did…what if we rushed into this too soon. What if Milo feels like he is being replaced?"

There it was. The reason for her resistance. Dan could hear more than see her tears, and hugged her tighter against him for a moment before releasing her and bring her face in front of his.

"We are NOT replacing Milo." Dan said firmly. "We will make sure Milo feels he is getting a brother or a sister, not that he is being replaced."

Blair sighed in somewhat relief, believing Dan's words and taking comfort in them.

"You're right." She took a deep breath steadying herself. "You're right. Of course you're right. I don't know why…I guess Georgina's mind games got to me too."

"Maybe we should see your psychologist too." Dan teased making Blair laugh. She slapped his chest playfully making him laugh.

"Ow!" Dan faked baking away from his wife.

She grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him back, kissing him firmly and deeply. When he pulled away he smiled at her sweetly.

"What was that for?" Dan asked.

"For being an amazing husband and father…and for always grounding me." She sighed contently. "I just realized how lucky I am to have you, and how ready I am to continue our life together."

He ran his hand through her hair again and cupped her cheek before kissing her again. This time the kiss was sweet, passionate and through. Blair felt herself feeling quite breathless when he finally pulled away.

"Shall we look?" Blair asked in a whisper looking over at the bathroom counter.

"Lets." Dan agreed standing up and pulling her up with him.

Blair lifted the washcloth she had laid on top of the pregnancy test and felt tears instantly sting her eyes.

It was positive.

She looked over at Dan who was already pulling her into his arms hugging her tightly.

"I love you so much." Dan whispered against her ear. "So much."

She felt her heart tug at the sound of the raw emotion coming from her husband.

"And I love you." She whispered back against his chest. "So very much."

And just like that—the Humphrey house was growing by one.
