A/N: First of all, I should be working on xbuttonsx story, but I found the 2002 Scooby Doo movie on TV and this came to me, and I just had to write it! It's set in the movieverse, but there is no movieverse category, so I put it here. It' set just after they split up at the beginning. And wow, a story under T. That hasn't happened before...
And yes, it's incredibly short. Shut up.
Edit: Changed the summary, and thanks to CierraLuv97 for the new summary! And being the first reviewer... And just being awesome.
His metaphor wasn't supposed to split them apart; it was supposed to make them realise that they needed each other. What good was a sundae without its key components?
They all left, all of them except Scooby. Not that Scooby had anywhere else to go, but at least he wasn't feeling under appreciated. Unlike Velma, who had every reason to be upset. Fred kept taking credit for her plans, and if Velma was complaining, then it had to be bad. She was terrified of confrontation, especially with someone as charismatic as Fred.
Not that he noticed. Fred was so self absorbed that he never noticed anything outside of his bubble of self-love. It didn't help that Daphne always ended up as the hostage, waiting for her egocentric knight in shining armour to come rescue her. All three of them were sick of each other, but instead of saying something, all they did was bottle up their emotions until they exploded.
If they would just listen, he'd tell them that their problems could easily be solved. He'd tell them that if Velma got some credit once in a while, she'd be perfectly happy. He'd tell them that if Daphne was allowed to capture a villain, she'd feel more useful. And he'd tell them that maybe, if Fred got to be the bait for once, he'd understand just how horrible it is to feel helpless, and maybe his ego would decrease.
But, then again, Shaggy is just the guy that carries the bags; who really cares what he thinks?
