If you're looking for heaven, it sure as hell aint me.

The rain fell heavily on the ground as they ran hand in hand, desperately searching for shelter on the busy streets of Chicago. Feeling a strong tug on her hand she followed without hesitation, not even looking up from underneath the hood of her duffel coat. The sound of the rain hammering onto her covered head suddenly stopping and the removal of the warm hand from her own caused her to pull the fabric from her head and look up instantly. Even during a torrential rain storm, Randy still looked the same as he always did; piercing blue eyes boring into her own as if looking into her very being. Her hand reached out to touch the worn skin under his eyes, caused by the lack of sleep he received from being on the road almost 24/7. No matter how strong you think someone may be, everyone is affected by even the smallest thing.

"You really should've got some sleep before you came here." she said softly, "You must be exhausted." Her voiced drowned out by the rain as it continued to fall outside of the bus shelter.

"You don't have to worry about me darling, I'll get some sleep on the bus." he smiled lightly as she continued to run her fingers along the contours of his face, mapping out his face, line by line.

"I'm going to miss you" her voiced cracked as she spoke, the volume barely audible. Taking hold of her hand again, he entwined her fingers with his own, tracing the outline of her lips with the other.

"I hate leaving you like this… I…" As if by magic, the announcement both had been dreading to hear came through the speakers. It was time for the pair to go their separate ways. Bringing his lips to hers for mere seconds before bending down to collect his belongings and beginning to back away from her. "I will see you soon sweetheart." she nodded and swallowed back the tears. This felt like the millionth time she had been through this. Goodbye is never easy, no matter how many time you say it.

As the bus pulled away from the station she pressed her forehead against the cool glass of the large window. The vibration of her phone dragged her back to reality. Sliding up the screen, she read the words with a smile.

And though my edges may be rough, I never feel like I'm quite enough, it may not seem like very much. But I'm yours.

Placing her phone back in her pocket she placed her forehead back onto the window.

"I love you." she mouthed, if only to herself.

You healed these scars over time, embraced my soul, you loved my mind. You're the only angel in my life.
