"It's cold," Rose says matter- of- factly, shrinking into her thin sweater at the same time. "Isn't there any type of heating system in the TARDIS? "

"There is... it's just not working right now." The Doctor shrugs when Rose lets out an annoyed groan, leaning against the cold metal of the dashboard. When she finally realizes that the metal is freezing, she jumps, and runs to the Doctor.

With hands tight on his leather jacket, she pulls him closer, and closer, and closer till her arms are around him in an awkward hug.

"Ugh. I thought you'd be warm."

"I am, compared to the rest of the TARDIS."

Rose huffs and buries her face into the Doctor's neck. He's right, he is warm. Not quite warm enough, though, and Rose can't help but wonder if there's some way she can make it warmer. It's far too cold outside, and it's only a bit warmer in the TARDIS, so the TARDIS is where she must stay.

"Mm. You're sure there's no places within walking distance? "

"There might be? " The Doctor shrugs in Rose's arms, ignoring the hands digging into his back.

"What do you mean, "there might be"? "

"Well, the TARDIS nor I, can see in this Blizzard, so we're stuck here till it dies down. Don't worry, should be in a couple days."

Rose makes a noise again, and the Doctor wraps his arms around her. If they were close before, they're even closer now. The Doctor pulls her backward and Rose steps on his feet, sending them crashing to the ground.

At least, they would've crashed to the ground, had the bed not been pulled out.

They lay there for awhile, too shocked by how cold the sheets are to say anything. The Doctor just listens to the blonde's breathing, slow and smooth, and all too human. Rose listens to the Doctor's hearts beating, both perfectly in time with the other. She can't hear him breathing past the heavy beats, but it's comforting, somehow.

"Doctor. Doctor!"

"Mm?"

"Doctor, do you breathe?"

He blinks.

"Yes. Most of the time."

"Hn. It's hard to hear."

"Your breathing is really easy to hear."

"What?"

"It's a little loud, that's all."

Rose sits up and straddles the Doctor's long legs.

"I'm warm enough here."

"Rooose. Don't do that. I'm cold too!" The Doctor pouts and pulls Rose's hands down to rest on his chest.

"See."

The blonde has to admit, the Doctor is a bit colder than usual. Just a bit. She leans down a bit more and presses her lips to the Doctor's forehead. His face is warm, and just a bit red. She smiles and kisses him again, though this time he moves his lips to meet hers.

She only feels just a little bit warmer.
