Ayane has the habit of rating men using a physical attractiveness scale. The scale goes from one to ten, with ten being the highest. Some of the things she would rate were clothes, physique, face, hair, lips, eyes and it would go on and on and on. It really depended on how bored she was.

She did this unconsciously. And she did it to mostly anybody male. It was a way to past the time really.

Ayane also had the habit of re-evaluating though.

Like right now.

After she had gotten over her initial irritation at Pin (a cold! Really, she should've known better) and after she had gotten over her amusement at Kazehaya begrudgingly caring for the sick, she started re-evaluating her teacher. She gave his hair a 4 originally. The style was atrocious, and the color was horrible. But there was something about the way his hair fell over his forehead and the rather rakish quality of his bed head that she liked. She mentally gave Pin's hair a rating of a sometimes 8 (emphasis on sometimes).

She didn't really dwell much on Pin's fashion sense. He was a teacher after all. She didn't have high expectations in the first place, so she gave him a 5.

"Why the hell are you getting hit on?"

It was unacceptable. Completely, and utterly unacceptable. The fact that he was wearing a jacket that should had every right to be thrown into the bonfire only added to her irritation at seeing him in the first place, during New Year's Eve.

She was giving him a 0. No, a negative 3.

Pin's annoying smirks never failed to annoy her. He laughed too loudly too. In this regard he always garnered a 1 on her scale.

But this time—

"You're kind."

She turned around a bit too late, and she wasn't quite sure if the passably acceptable (utterly sweet, and heartbreakingly kind) smile on his face was truth rather than her imagination.

—this time she'd give him a 10.
