Author's Note: So, I'm going through stories in my folder deciding if I should put any up or not, and came across this one I wrote a while ago for my friend I'm-A-Melon because she loves SquallxSora.
Big, fluffy flakes fell continuously, landing quietly on the ground and window ledges. Each one unique in its own way. And that was what Sora loved about the snow. Every single flake was so different, but they all had to share the great expanse of earth, they did it without complaint. I don't see why people can't do that. Everyone living in harmony. That would be a dream come true.
"Sora, are you coming to bed?" Sora turned around and smiled at his boyfriend, already under the covers.
"Sure am. Just a sec," Sora replied, stripping off his shirt and pants leaving him only in his boxers before making a running leap and landing on the bed, and his boyfriend's legs, causing the man to grunt and shoot Sora a look. He grinned sheepishly and picked himself up, crawling to the head of the bed, slipping under the covers.
"The next time you do that, you're sleeping on the couch."
Sora snorted. "Isn't that supposed to be my line, Squally?" He grinned at the glare he received. Squall hated that name, even when Sora used it in the most affectionate way possible.
"Shut the light out." The man answered, and Sora, pouting, complied. He flopped back down, squirming a little to get comfortable, pressing his cheek into the pillow and nuzzling it.
There was a long silence and Sora let out a small sigh. Squall fell asleep already. Dang it. He was hoping to cuddle, but the stoic ass never cuddled, not even when they started going out. It's been a year, so what was he doing wrong?
Just as he was shutting his eyes, resigning himself to another partially cold, winter night, he felt a strong arm slip over him, drawing him closer to the warm and muscular body beside him. Sora let out a small cry of surprise, eyes wide in the pitch black of the room. He felt warm breath falling on his neck as Squall let out a deep sigh.
Sora smiled, body relaxing against the other. "Squall?"
Several seconds passed and Sora was beginning to wonder if Squall was asleep, and was unaware he was cuddling, but then he felt another woosh of warm air on his neck and knew the man was awake.
"What?" He sounded tired, but awake.
"Good night, Squall. Love you."
There was another long silence and Sora couldn't help but feel a little hurt Squall was ignoring him, even though he knew what he was like, and how he rarely ever showed how he felt, let alone tell Sora he loved him back. But tonight, the man was full of surprises. He pulled Sora even closer so that their bodies fit, as though Sora's body was an important piece to a puzzle and snapped perfectly in place once tested.
"Love you too."
