R&R! HAPPY NEW YEARS! It is currently 11:59 approximately. Okay, not right now, but that's about when I'll put this up. I'm in the American West Coast time zone. So that's what time zone this is being approximated in, since, as my parents pointed out, some people would wonder why I'm saying it's eleven fifty nine when wherever they are it could be noon for all I know.
"3... 2... 1... Happy New Years!"
Danny cheered. Jack cheered. Maddie cheered. Jazz cheered.
Did anyone not?
Why, the Box Ghost did not cheer. He was right behind Danny and the young half ghost was for once completely ignoring him. They were not trembling in fear. For once, he was not even being acknowledged, even as a nuisance.
"Resolutions, anyone?" asked Maddie.
Jazz said, "I resolve to learn about the psychology of a ghost's mind, and to be a better big sister than ever."
"My turn, my turn!" said Jack. "I resolve to do some tests on that Inviso-bill."
Danny shuddered, but it went unnoticed. The Box Ghost was confused. Who was Inviso-bill?
"I'll say it now." he said. He thought briefly about how to word it. "I resolve to do my job better." He decided. There, that would do it.
"My turn now." said Maddie. "I resolve to learn more about ghosts, and make at least thirty new inventions of my own."
The Box Ghost was slightly daunted by this resolution. He was pretty sure that said inventions would not be benevolent to ghosts.
Then he noticed the Fentons had finished talking and he made his resolution.
He rose up several feet.
"I, the Box Ghost, resolve to frighten the entirety of Amity Park with my boxes of doooooom!"
Jack and Maddie hopped up onto their feet. "Ghost!" they cried in unison. Danny and Jazz both just watched in amusement as the ghost hunting couple attempted to chase and catch the Box Ghost. Really, the Box Ghost was annoying, but entertaining to watch be chased. Unless you were the one chasing him, but come on. It was the Box Ghost fleeing and Jack ghost hunting at the same time. How could it not be entertaining?
Eventually, though, they got bored of watching their parents fail to catch the Box Ghost. This took three hours of their parents running back and forth while the Box Ghost flew. For a while, they debated whether to help their parents catch him or to just go to bed. Not long after the debate started did they both head off to bed and fall asleep.
The next morning, they awoke to find their parents both collapsed on the couch and all the boxes formed of corrugated cardboard vanished from the house.
"I think the Box Ghost escaped." commented Jazz.
Danny looked at her sardonically. "You think?"
Yeah, it lacks a plotline. But it's a New Years oneshot, which is what I was aiming for. Obviously. I hope you like it! HAPPY NEW YEARS! R&R! And resolve to R&R!
