"That tree is mine" Sora said, pointing at a big oak tree at the far end of the school ground with a hand dominating his hip.

"No, it's not" Roxas said flatly. "You can't just claim a tree as your own"

"Watch me!" He stood up and ran at full speed over to the tree he previously pointed too.

Roxas, Kairi, Selphie, Hayner and Naminé just watched as he looked approach the tree, tagging it and dancing frantically around it like an Indian tribe might.

"My tree!" They heard him bellow as he did one last lap around the large trunk.

Hayner stuck a hand in Sora's school bag, pulling out his iPod touch.

"Mine!" Hayner smiled sarcastically, laughing with his friends as Sora frantically ran back over to the group lounging on the grass in the summer heat.

"That's...that's my iPod" he said inbetween heavy breaths.

"Nope!" Hayner popped the 'P' at the end of the word. "If that's your tree then this is my iPod" Hayner joked as he shook the iPod tauntingly at the brown haired boy.

"You can't just claim something like that Hayner" Sora shook his head childishly.

"That's what I've been trying to tell you!" Roxas said, exasperated, sighing, and falling back onto the grass behind him.

"I think if there is something you want badly enough, you should try your hardest to make it yours" Sora closed his eyes and held a finger in the air with an 'I'm too smart to be stupid' grin on his face.

Roxas blushed a little, a troubled look upon his face for a millisecond.

The sound of the school bell rang loudly across the grounds, initiating groans and complaints from students who much preferred to be in the summer sun than a stuffy classroom.

"Come on guys, we can come back and see the tree again tomorrow!" Sora grinned as he led his friends to their maths classroom.

Roxas and Sora walked across after being let out from Soccer Practise. The late hour had made the place dark.

"There's my tree again" Sora said, pointing in a westward direction.

"How can you see? It's pretty dark out" Roxas asked, looking round at the enclosed darkness.

"The connection between me and my tree is so strong I can see it even in the dark" Sora winked, grabbing the blonde's hand subconsciously. "Come on!"

Sora dragged Roxas behind him as he went in the direction of the tall oak.

"See? My tree" Sora ran a hand downward over the bark, feeling all the cracks and dents various weather and people had made in the tree.

Roxas turned round leaning his back against the sturdy bark with one hand in his pocket. His eyes were downcast and he appeared unhappy.

Sora took a step to his left so he was stood directly in front of Roxas.

"What's up dude?" He asked, wondering what was troubling his friend.

"Earlier...you said 'I think if there is something you want, you should try your best to make it yours'...or something like that..." He trailed off as he looked at the ground.

Sora felt something tug his hand, realising that Roxas' hand was trapped in his grasp.

Sora looked up at Roxas, just then noticing they were close.

Roxas moved his head forward, stopping for a short moment when he was in front of Sora's lips, as if considering something. Sora felt something tug at his insides. In the spur of the moment, leant forward and gently rubbed his lips against Roxas'.

Roxas obligied, gently pecking him, then moving his lips more fiercely to match Sora's speed.

The kiss deepened when Roxas raised his hands, running them through Sora's spiky, yet deceivably soft hair.

When they finally broke apart, Roxas ran his hand down Sora's neck, resting it on his shoulder.

"This still isn't your tree" he muttered.

Sora looked shocked and confused momentarily, until Roxas looked up into his eyes and spoke again with a genuine smile and a look of pure ecstasy.

"It's ours"
