Don't Fly Away
The day Natalie is getting married to Henry, Diana wakes up, grabs a pair of scissors, cuts up the dress she was supposed to wear, and cries.
She knows she's never paid as much attention to her daughter as she should have, and now she's paying for it. Natalie is leaving her, and she has all the reason in the world to. But Diana can't let herself see Natalie fly away from her. She won't—she can't go to the wedding.
Diana tries to justify what she's doing by thinking that Natalie will be happier without her mother there to ruin her wedding day. That only makes Diana more upset. She's wasted all of Natalie's life caring only about Gabe, and now it's too late to do anything about it.
But now she regrets what she's done, and wants to see her daughter get married, to see her finally be happy for once.
Lamely, Diana kneels and attempts to piece the cut-up dress back together. Even before she starts, she knows it's impossible.
