Summary: Because without a reminder, eventually even memories fade. Post-Frontier. One Shot.

Disclaimer: Digiwriter1392 does not own Digimon.

It had started with another of my childhood television shows, and then morphed into this. Because even with proof, the Digital World would seem far-fetched to anyone, and without it, how could anyone keep believing in something that they couldn't really prove was real?

After "The End"

When they had returned to the Human World, to their world, their D-Tectors had returned to the cell phones that they had originally been.

Their cloths were clean, and had lost the numerous tears that had formed.

Their injuries had healed and it was like their scars had never existed.

All traces of their mysterious text messages were gone, and the elevators in the train station only went to the basement. No network of tunnels were to be seen.

It had been like their amazing adventure had never happened.

And with only their memories as proof, it was difficult to convince anyone of their experience, including themselves.

After a few years even Takuya, who had clung to the belief that the Digital World and its people existed, believed that it had just been something he had imagined one afternoon.

But for reasons that they couldn't explain, even if asked, every year they found themselves in Shibuya Station, standing in front of an elevator.

They would leave quickly, but sometimes they would see each other.

The problem was that they no longer recognized the people who had become Digimon with them, at least not in the ways that mattered.

In the years that had passed, each one has grown. Finding talents and hobbies and moving towards the futures that they thought would be theirs.

Time moves differently between dimensions, seconds and hours and years fluctuated as they moved.

During the few months after the defeat of Lucemon, the Legendary Warriors, given new physical forms, worked towards renewing the Digital World to the beautiful place it once was.

And now they wanted to show their progress to the humans who had made it possible for them.

The ten Warriors gathered in Ophanimon's Castle, and watched as the angelic Digimon connected to the human world.

After ten years in the human world, their cell phones were different, their phone numbers changed, but Ophanimon was still able to find them.

And after the six had answered their phones, they were greeted by an unfamiliar, yet familiar, symbol and a warm woman's voice.

"Hello children, are you willing to return?"

End

I wrote a one shot with a similar ending a few years ago, and I am still trying to write the story to go with it.

So this time, instead of promising more, I will say this. If anyone wants to write a story using this as a base, they are welcome to. Just give credit to me for the jump-start, and pm me with a link to the story you come up with, that way I can read it.
