Author's Notes: Okay, seriously, this couple needs more loving! That's right, they're my FF7 OTP. Hahaha, I have so many stories planned for them. One of them's actually multi-chaptered, so i'm excited for that. :D
DISCLAIMER: If I owned the fandom, these two would have their own series, yo. Oh, and more Reno.
With a glance out the window, his eyes took in the dazzling sight of the purest shade of white flakes descending from the sky in a graceful manner. It was like a winter wonderland and despite having seen the scene his entire life, it never ceased to amaze him and not to mention that beside him was someone he held dear to his heart. It was hard not to want to be near her, ever since those few days spent together as children, they became inseparable.
Moving his chestnut colored eyes to face the slim girl seated on the bar stool next to him, he couldn't help the smile that spread on its own; she was taller now, and she allowed her hair to cascade down her back in a wavy mess, it was truly a sight to behold. He'd admit, anytime someone would take her focus off of him, he'd become jealous and have an urge to eliminate the person, but it wasn't like she really could help herself, she was the living definition of a social butterfly.
"Hey, Denzel," The girl that sat on the bar stool next to said boy said, tilting her heart shaped face only slightly. "You alright?"
Casting a quick glance at the brunette, he shook his head and replied, "Just thinking."
"No wonder," She laughed whole heartedly, her navy eyes twinkling in enthusiasm, "you and thinking don't go well together."
Pouting cutely at her in return, Denzel retorted in fake anger, "Thanks a lot."
An awkward silence then filled the air and Denzel couldn't help but recall how much more frequent they were becoming. They used to be able to talk like morons and act like children without any worries at all, but ever since a few weeks ago, some strange force just made them uneasy. Denzel just figured she was having an off day at first, but after a dreary week of it, he finally decided that it was him. Him and his stupid jealously issues.
Noticing something out of the corner of his eye, Denzel maneuvered his face so he could get a better look. On the corner of the girl's rosy lips was a smudge of chocolate that must've been from the hot chocolate he'd made her that was currently residing on the counter in front of her. Raising a finger, the male said, "You've got something on your-"
Catching on, she hurriedly moved her hands to her face and continually searched for the spot but to no avail. After a while, she gave up with a huff and said, "Could you get it for me?"
With a hesitant shiver, Denzel considered his options. He could be the good friend and simply reach out and wipe the mark away, but then there was that option. The option where he took everything another step forward and made for a great story down the road.
Swallowing thickly, Denzel leaned forward and slowly let his eyes slip shut as he applied his own lips – they felt like they were chapped with how nervous he was – to the girl's in front of him. It was short, like a breeze in the summer and it made him feel like he was on top of the world.
Once they were pulled apart and their eyes met in an understood stare, a smile spread on the brunette's face. "You just couldn't use your hand, could you?" She questioned, chuckling at the boy's reddened face.
What could he say? He was Cloud's – not so adoptive – son.
