I DO NOT OWN FMA. ENJOY! :D
Fullmetal Alchemist
The Report
The lieutenant colonel was reading. He was reading my report. Yes, I'm talking about the report I crammed the night before. It's the report I pulled an all-nighter for. It's the very report I worked hard on. You know why? It's my first report. I certainly didn't want to leave a bad impression on my new superior officer.
Yeah. Lieutenant Colonel Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist, was reading it. I couldn't exactly understand the expression on his face but it looked like it was in between disappointment and satisfaction. Seriously, What horrific throught trains were currently bulleting through the guy's mind? What did I do to deserve this? What if he thinks it sucks so much? What if-?
"Fullmetal."
I looked up at him uneasily. "Am I supposed to be called that now?"
Mustang smirked. "Of course. It's your State Alchemist name, is it not? That's why they call me Flame, you know."
Wow, what a self-centered bastard. I hate it whenever he has that smug tone of voice... But he's still my superior. I decided to simply roll my eyes. "Right. Go on," I said forcefully.
He frowned back down at the rushed report. I gulped. "It's not that bad for a first report, actually."
"Yeah, well, I put a lot of hard work into that, right, Al?" I said bluntly.
Al, who was standing quietly behind me, paused for a brief moment before he replied sincerely, "Yes sir, brother's very hardworking and he always puts his whole heart, mind, and soul into whatever he does."
Mustang smiled. "Oh, is that so, Fullmetal?"
I nodded, sweatdropping. "Yeah. Is there a problem?"
Al and I stood anxiously before the lieutenant colonel's desk, waiting for him to elaborate on his opinion. The rest of the office was working diligently and silently, maybe feeling the tension emanating from us. Mustang's dark, black hair was covering his eyes as he browsed over the report agian.
Then, he stared at me solemnly. "There's just one tiny problem."
The emphasized word instantly sparked a familiar feeling of annoyance inside me. I pushed it back, simply stiffening and clenching my fists.
"Yeah?"
"The handwriting's a little bit too... small," he said, exposing his previously-hidden grin.
With my right, metal arm ready, I charged straight at the bastard without hesitation.
Author's Note: I was bored in class so I decided to make a small one-shot. My friend seated near me was also reading it when the teacher wasn't looking. I thought it wouldn't be too bad to publish it here on FF. Hope you all enjoyed! Please review. :)
