We've been through so much together.
We've been to Hades and back. Faced the Sea of Monsters. Held together the weight of the sky. Navigated Daedalus' labyrinth. Faced Kronos in battle.
I would call you Seaweed Brain, and you would call me Wise Girl - your lame attempt at a comeback. I always laughed it off. I always thought you would be there.
I never thought I would lose you.
Today I stand in front of you, and those sea-green eyes that once touched my soul and stared back into mine are scared and confused. Lost. Afraid.
No longer my hero, the one that stood there on the riverbank in amazement, staring at a glowing holograph above your head.
No longer my hero, the one that charged into battle and single-handedly defeated Kronos.
No longer Percy.
You stare at me, and I wait for the light of recognition to flicker in your eyes. Because I know we've been through too much for it to all disappear. For it to all go away. I wait for the comprehension to click; the match to light; the fire to burn.
It doesn't.
But I take your hand, and lead you back through the path of your soul.
I know we will pull through.
But for now, I will be your hero. I will guide you through the twists and turns of this world not unlike Daedalus' labyrinth. I will show you the way. I will be your hero. Until you come back. Until you remember. Until you can be my Percy - my hero - once again.
A/N: My first PJO fic.
