Kurt/Blaine, super schmoop. If you enjoy it, review it! If you don't enjoy it... review it anyway!

It's a Sunday afternoon. The sun is shining lazily through Kurt's living room windows and falling on two figures draped across each other on the couch. One is sitting, reading a battered paperback copy of The Sorcerer's Stone, the other on his back, head resting in the first's lap, eyes closed, and occasionally sighing contentedly.

Blaine runs his fingers through Kurt's hair. "This is nice."

"Mmmhmm," Kurt mumbles in assent, seeming to be halfway to asleep. "Love you."

A second later, Kurt's eyes snap open and he stares, wide-eyed, at Blaine, who isn't saying anything. He's just sitting there, one hand in Kurt's hair, the other holding his book. His face is blank and shocked and his mouth is hanging open and Kurt's heart starts to pound.

"So, uh, how was your day?" Kurt asks lamely, wildly imagining that Blaine will ignore that and they can return to their previous easy comfort.

Blaine snaps his mouth shut and inhales and exhales deeply. "Well," he says, drawing out every letter slowly. "It was okay and then the guy I'm crazy about told me he loves me and… and now I'm speechless."

Kurt's eyes are still wide and he's breathing heavily through his nose. Come on, he pleads with himself. Just say it, please just say it.

Blaine seems to realize then what he's doing with Kurt's emotions and his hand resumes stroking Kurt's hair.

"And then, like an idiot, I just left him hanging when what I should have done is this."

Blaine gently tugs at Kurt's arm until he's sitting up. Kurt's back is to him now and he leans forward, inhaling his aftershave and a smell that he's only been able to identify as Kurt and Blaine kisses his neck, softly. "Kurt," he whispers by his ear. "Kurt, I love you too."

Kurt exhales, "oh thank god" and Blaine laughs. He turns so they're facing each other.

"I'm sorry if I made you nervous," Blaine says quietly, biting his lip. He reaches up to brush a strand of hair from Kurt's forehead and lets his fingers trail down his cheek to his lips. He runs his thumb over Kurt's bottom lip and smiles before slowly tilting his head towards him. "I love you," he whispers into their kiss and he feels Kurt smile in response.

When Burt gets home, Blaine and Kurt are where he left them on the couch. Kurt's leaning against Blaine's side, head on his shoulder. Blaine's head is drawing lazy circles on Kurt's shoulder and he's holding the book he found under their couch, reading it out loud. Something has changed, but Burt can't quite put his finger on it. He shrugs and moves into the kitchen for coffee, comforted by the sight of his son so happy and the sound of soft words drifting across the room.

"…if there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love. He didn't realize that love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves its own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign… to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever."
