Just a little drabble I thought of when my friend Elisa picked the prompt, "slope." I seem to write better and faster, I think, when people give me the prompts. Ha. Anyways, I don't own NCIS...

"If we date, the team will be split up. If we start a relationship, they will move us," Ziva said softly, looking up into his hazel eyes. "I do not want that, Tony. I do not want to be away from you; I do not want to be away from McGee, Abby, Gibbs, Ducky, Jimmy...I do not know what I would do without my family."

"Ziva, what you're saying is a slippery slope. Nothing like that will happen if we can both lie about what we're doing. Our relationship will not become a slippery slope," Tony DiNozzo replied, looking back into her brown eyes. He grabbed her hand and kissed it gently. "Can we please try?"

Ziva looked down at her hand and then looked back at Tony. "A slippery slope?" she asked, a curious expression on her face.

Tony sighed and shook his head. "A slippery slope is where you believe Event A leads to Event B which leads to Event C. So, you ultimately think that Event A leads to Event C. You think that us dating, taking this relationship to the next level, will lead to the team being broken up, but it won't, Ziva. I'll make sure that the team stays together," DiNozzo assured her, his hand cupping her cheek.

"Can you promise me that this, that we, will not turn into this slope?"

Tony couldn't help but chuckle when she spoke. Ziva was incorrectly using the idiom, and whenever she did that, DiNozzo couldn't help it; he had to smile.

"I promise you that we won't turn into the slope," he replied, kissing her lips gently.

Ziva kissed him back and smiled underneath him. They would be fine; she knew that they would be okay in the end.
