Selene lay back on the bed in Raze's pack's infirmary. Michael and Gabriel had figured out how to keep her alive, now they were arguing over the details. It irritated her to no end.
They realized about fifteen minutes ago that if they started blood infusions as soon as Selene went into labor, that she would have enough in her system by the time she got to meet her child.
The stubborn men were concerned of the merit of using real blod versus cloned blood or plasma
"Seriously, Just pump two bags of O negative in me and I'll be fine!" Selene said exasperatedly. "Honestly, I don't see what all the fuss is about."
"Sorry, Selene. I just worry." Michael said sheepishly. He turned back to the healer. "Can we do the ultrasound now?"
"She has you well trained." A female voice said from the doorway.
"Rachel. This is-" Gabriel began, but his mate cut him off.
"Selene and Michael Corvin, I know." The smaller, blond woman went to Selene. "How are you feeling?"
She smiled wearily, "I would be feeling better if these two could agree on something... But I feel fine otherwise."
Rachel took her hand. She gently squeezed it as she whispered, "Thank you for changing Selene. I happen to think you are a good person, and am glad I don't have to kill you. Can we be friends?"
"I would like that. I haven't had a real friend since before I met Michael. Even then, they weren't female friends." Selene looked away, trying to hide the pain she knew would show as she remembered Nathaniel -and Rigel, you couldn't have one without the other.
"They must have been good friends, if you miss them so much. I can see how upset you are that they're not here."
"We were closer than siblings, but they died the night I met Michael."
"I'm sorry."
Just then Gabriel returned with a cart full of machines. Odd. She hadn't noticed him leave.
"Selene, er, can you lift your shirt? I need your stomach bare."
Selene nodded, and pulled the warm fabric of her tank top up, and slightly lowered her sweatpants as well.
"Okay. This is going to be a little cold. Sorry" He muttered as he squeezed a large amount of clear gel onto the scanning wand. To selene it looked like a computer mouse.
Gabriel flipped a few switches on the monitor, and pressed the device to her stomach. "Okay, let's see if we can get a picture of the little one."
He moved it around, and then frowned. "Oh... "
"Selene, umm... Well good news and bad news." Michael laughed as they turned the monitor towards her. "You were right to doubt if it was a boy. We're having twins. A boy and a girl. Twins."
Michael seemed so happy. Selene felt even happier than he looked.
"This changes things a bit. We might need a C-section. But they will be fine. Everything will be fine."
"I think Alexander's blood boosted my reproductive system, as well as making me immune to sunlight. Twins." Selene lay her head on the pillow, and relaxed as Gabriel took a few measurements, and printed a picture of the babies for them.
Twins.

Selene browsed the selection at the maternity store, half an hour after they had left the Pack.
So far she had found a few supremely stretchy shirts that would fit her to the end, but didn't scream 'I'm incapable of reaching my toes so pity me', and now she was looking through their pants selection.
"Hey, Selene." Michael called. "How about these?"
He was holding up a pair of cargo pants in one hand, and a pair of detructed jeans in the other.. They were actually her style. Hmm. Not bad.
"Perfect."
Selene grabbed a few more tees that were similar to the ones in her hand, and went over to Michael. "You know me too well. Now I really can't let you leave." She said light-heartedly.
Michael stared at her in shock, pants forgotten. "Did... Did you just make a joke?"
"Yes. I CAN make jokes you know. It isn't unheard of."
Michael just laughed as she gave him a tiny shove. "I know you can joke. Everybody can joke. I just have never heard you do it." He pulled her into his arms, expression both fond, and serious. "I can't believe we're going to be parents. After meeting you, this is the best thing to happen to me. Selene... I LOVE YOU."
"I-I love you too, Michael. So much. I always wanted a family. To be a mother. And you've given me that." She cleared her throat, and her voice craked as she said, "Enough of this garbage. I need clothes that fit."
"You were about to cry! Awww Selene has feelings!" Michael laughed again, gently taking her hand. "It's alright, I won't let anyone know."
"Thanks so much." She said, her words dripping with sarcasm. "Now can we get back to shopping? Please?!"
