(A/N: My second AATC fic. A oneshot this time. And again, it's Simanette. *spazzes* Warning: There is major fluffage and cheesiness in this ficlet. Enjoy!)
Summary: A deeper view into one of my favorite Simanette moments.
Disclaimer: I do not own Alvin and the Chipmunks, or the Chipettes. *sigh* *chipmunk voice* Where is the moment we needed the most...
Keep These Two Apart
A Simon/Jeanette Fanfic
by Jill Diamond
"Well, actually, I get the feeling-" Simon felt the pressure of Alvin's hand stop him in mid-sentence.
"It's been a piece of cake!" Alvin interrupted in a struggled tone. Brittany gave another harsh tug on the apple, causing Alvin's hand to release Simon's mouth. "The only problem we have...uh, is crowd control!"
"Immature, both of them!" Simon muttered, dusting his sweater off even though it wasn't needed. He turned back to Jeanette.
Jeanette. Beautiful Jeanette. Wonderful Jeanette. The Jeanette that had been there for him whenever his brothers or Dave weren't. And even if they were there, she was there, too. The Jeanette that had those gorgeous emerald eyes that he could get lost in for hours, but always cut it short. Oh, great, he was getting lost in them now. Control yourself, Simon!
"Simon, are you okay?" the brunette asked, concern filling the very eyes that Simon was losing himself in. He sighed. Now's a good a time as any...
"Jeanette...I know you're not the kind of girl to take things lightly," he began with a slow breath.
"No," she replied simply.
"Sure, we do!" they overheard Brittany shout at Alvin.
Simon took another deep breath, trying not to get distracted by Jeanette's large eyes as he looked straight into them.
"Well, I have something very serious to tell you..." He rested his hand on the Chipette's shoulder and drew closer to her, feeling the soft material of her sweater and the ends of her brunette tendrils.
The further Simon looked into her eyes, the more he thought to himself This is ridiculous! She's obviously not going to return your feelings. She'll never see you as anything more than a friend. She'll laugh in your face. She can do better than you.
He looked over his shoulder for a split second, and saw Alvin pulling his cap over one eye, with Brittany well inside his personal bubble. Taking the opportunity, he turned back to Jeanette, who was now truly worried about Simon. He didn't usually act this way.
"We've got to keep these two apart!" the blue-clad chipmunk exclaimed at the last second, before Alvin and Brittany pulled their respective siblings apart. Simon may have blinked, but he thought he saw Jeanette look almost...disappointed before she was fully turned around by Brittany's grasp.
The End
(A/N: Yeah, I told you it was going to be cheesy. But hey! Everyone likes cheese, right? Mm...cheese. *smacks chops* OH, sorry, what? Oh, yeah. Well, anyway. Hope you enjoyed! Reviews make me feel fuzzy. BAI!)
