It was a chance meeting

(what's the chance that he'd literally run into her?)

After many rushed apologies

he smiles&"I'll see you around, 'kay?"

Between Lavender's giggling and her own

she smiles&"Sounds like a plan."

Boy goes almost out of his way to

see her

&talk to her

&wave to her

('cause she is quite pretty, isn't she?)

And when they begin to talk more&more frequently

the poor boy realizes that

he's

falling

hard for that girl

(that giggling Gryffindor.)

It's just too bad that

the girl is oh, so

dumb&proud&blind.

She's too

caught up with herself

&her head is too far up in the clouds

to even take notice of what she's missing

when she tells him "no."

She never thought in a million years

that she would want him

(even though he is sortakinda attractive, isn't he?)

because she could have

a-n-y-o-n-e

&who in Merlin's name would

settle for

rougharoundtheedges&plainbrown&coldgrey

when there's

smooth&iceblond&lustrousgreen?

He'd always be there, anyway

Boy stayed for a while

&became something like her best friend

(besides Lavender, obviously)

because being friends was better than nothing

(at least that's how he saw it.)

But her friends couldn't

comprehend why she even talked to him

(a Slytherin)

"He's nothing but bad news"

"Have you heard what he's done?"

"I heard that his father was a Death Eater!"

And, for awhile, she didn't even understand either

but underneath that blinding layer of

pride

she could sense something different

something special

about him.

Boy moves on to a different girl

who doesn't like that whole

"friends thing"

He still keeps in touch for a while

but it's kindasorta awkward

with Miss Bitch always glaring.

Sooner than later

their friendship becomes

s-t-r-a-i-n-e-d.

Then it simply

disappears.

*poof*

It's not until years after

(and many meaningless relationships)

that that silly&stupid&giggling

girl

wipes her eyes clean

and sees for the first time

what she let s l i p away.

She gets back in contact with him

and happily discovers that Miss Bitch is long gone

(thankfully.)

They rekindle their friendship

&this time the tables are turned

girl falls for boy

(so damn hard.)

At first she's scared

because second chances are hard to find

and she doesn't want to be hurt

(she doesn't know if her heart can handle another break.)

But that different Slytherin

is as kind as he ever was

(maybe a bit more wary, though)

and he happily takes her heart for the keeping.

After some time has passed

girl learns that

treasures don't come as

smooth&iceblond&lustrousgreen

(that, my dear, is the recipe for heartbreak)

but as

rougharoundtheedges&plainbrown&coldgrey.

It's a lesson that she wishes that she learned

a little sooner

(but better late than never, right?)
