A/N: I love period drama's, but Downton is by far my favourite, I love the relationshiop between Anna and Mr. Bates...it's more intriguing than the Matthew/Mary saga. Anyways, it's a little short but thats because its so late and I'm tired :/

Hope you liked it.

Her mother often mentioned that she'd been a quiet baby, easy to manage, often wishing her brother and sister had been more like her.

She had not cried when she'd often fallen over as a child and scraped a knee, or when the family dog had died.

Nor had she cried when she had cracked her skull after falling from the high beams of the barn, only moments after her brother had dared her, not that she remembered it well, her eyes had stung afterwards when her father scorned her for her stupidity but no tears came forth.

She had not cried at all once she'd broken any chance of marriage with her childhood sweetheart, choosing her career over her heart.

She had only felt sad as she'd hugged her mother and sister goodbye as she'd set on her way to start her new life at Downton.

On the day she had learnt of her sister birthing a still born, she had wondered if she were broken, not being able to shed a tear over her sisters loss.

Anna could not remember a time when she had cried, yet she could not stop herself from crying over Mr Bates.

A/N: I notcied how Anna quite frequently cries for Mr. Bates because she's in love with him which is why I wrote this. Thanks for reading :)
