A/N This has been nagging me for months, so I finally decided to write it. Enjoy! And Review!

"Kevin, Are you ok?"

Kevin suddenly tensed. Ok? How could he be ok, after what had just happened?

"Kevin…."

"Go away."

"What?"

"Go Away NOW!"

Kevin looked vicious, evil, even. Ben recognized the look, having been on the receiving end of it countless times. Gwen, however, didn't seem to realize she was in danger.

Putting her hands on her hips, she snapped, "Kevin Ethan Levin, don't you dare use that tone with me. I just asked if you were ok. I think, as your girlfriend, I have a right to know!"

Kevin's eyes warmed slightly at Gwen's words. His girlfriend. At long last, he had done it, and he wasn't about to blow it with one stupid argument. He looked at Ben his stony look returning.

"Get out of here, Tennyson."

Ben looked hurt by the comment. He had thought they were finally getting along, but now, Kevin had called him "Tennyson" again. Catching the look between Kevin and Gwen, however, he decided to heed the elder boy's command and leave. He had no wish to witness the loving words or…shudder…the kissing. (A/N I enjoy gwevin, but I doubt anyone would enjoy their friend and cousin in loving embrace.)

After he left, Kevin turned back to Gwen.

"Gwen, I don't want to talk about it."

He pleaded with his eyes. Don't make me explain, he said. Please.

Gwen didn't seem to get the message- or maybe, she ignored it.

"Kevin, we have to talk about it. I'm here to help."

Her voice softened, and she hugged him.

Kevin tensed. He didn't want to be hugged. He didn't…

He did. He wanted it badly. But why would anyone want to hug someone as awful as him? He didn't deserve it. Gwen pitied him, that was all. She didn't actually want to touch him, how could she? He was nothing, and she was the most beautiful entity in the universe. She shouldn't be allowed to touch him.

He tried to move away.

"Kevin?"

"Don't… I don't deserve…"

Suddenly, Gwen understood.

She understood his constant aversion of compliments, his seclusion. She understood his hesitation when Ben offered friendship. She understood that look in his eyes when he thought no one was looking, the loneliness and fear.

Because she understood that Kevin had never felt love, and he thought he didn't deserve it.

He thinks he's imposing himself on us, she thought. He thinks we just pity him. He doesn't think we actually care.

She hugged him closer.

"Kevin, I love you. You're mom loves you. Ben cares for you. Max cares for you. You deserve this as much as anyone else. More than anyone else. Don't ever say you don't deserve love."

As she said it, her grip tightened, and she felt Kevin relaxing.

"And I swear, if you do say that, I will make you drink a broccoli Smoothie."

Kevin laughed into her chest, a nervous, emotion- filled laugh. The laughing turned to sobs. She held on.

"I love you." She repeated, over and over. She knew he needed this. He needed comfort, friendship, care.

Love.

And she swore to herself she would make sure to give it to him. Forever.
