Rorschach's Halloween

Rorschach's Journal, October 31 1985

Got up this morning, landlady yelling for rent, like always. Ignored her. Went back into my room, ate two cans of beans and went to work. It is a special day.

My gloves, my face, hat and coat where in dumpster where I left them, waiting for me, waiting to be agents of justice. Gloves went on with pleasant feeling of leather on skin, Hat, Coat and face followed. It was mid-morning, was surprised to see man in middle of attempted robbery. Mid-morning, usually criminals prefer to cower in darkness. Broke both his arms. He'll stay off the street for a while. Maybe tell his colleagues, even during the day justice can find them.

Night came quickly, allowing me to work. Children of all ages and sizes came out at night, in a Varity of costumes. Most were terrible. Glad for distraction, allows me to work unseen. No one noticed me, or paid me any attention. Pleasant Change.

First act of business, attempted mugging, rape in progress, needed to be stopped. Tapped would-be rapist on shoulder, spun and gave me a cold look of terror. Very rewarding look. Left man in just enough shape to make it to hospital, if they drive quickly. Right leg won't recover.

Along patrol, stop yet another rape, broke yet another set of legs. My work leaves me blood stained and satisfied, I've left fear in the hearts of the criminal element. My job is very rewarding.

Encountered one last criminal on my Halloween patrol, pedophile attempting to partake in his sinful pastime. This criminal angered my very soul. I was pleased to break him. He will never walk again, never feed himself again, and never do anything else again. I made sure of it.

After depositing my face and other clothes I returned back to my apartment. Landlady in room, probably with another man. No surprise. For me, this day is a day like any other. Criminals don't observe calendars, and neither do I.

Happy Halloween guys! Hope you enjoyed it!
