.:symphony of a stolen heart:.
(because having your heart stolen isn't always lovely)

She saw him running, running; running to God-knows-where. And her hand immediately flew to her chest.
She couldn't hear it beating, for it was pounding so fast; she smiled.
She knew he immediately ran away with her heart.
xxx
She could hear him, hear his steps pound against the ground; hear his breath against the cold, frigid air as he forced himself to continue running; running to God-knows-where. And her hands immediately flew to her mouth.
She didn't want him to hear her; hear her following him; not yet.
But she continued, continued to follow his every step, because she wanted.
She wanted to immediately steal his heart, too.

She could smell him; smell that pepper-like scent that claimed the air every time he passed by; every time she even thoughtof him running, his breath heard from a mile away. The girl refused to dowse herself in perfumes, drown herself in a sea of scent.
…Because none could compare to his.
Whenever she smelt him, she always anticipated a flip of her heart, a pain in her chest
But she never felt one.
And she would smile, for she would remember that he still held her heart.

She could taste him; a hint of citrus, mixed with a sweet flavor that, with that pepper-like smell, would make her flutter like a bird. The girl refused to eat, to nourish her empty stomach, for being hungry was better than losing his taste; empty stomachs were better than empty hearts.
And sometimes, she wished he would stop running; she wished she could taste him again.
But she never could.
And for a moment, she almost wished he never stole her heart.
xxx
But yet, she couldn't touch him; his elusive figure was always so rare, as his citrusy-sweet taste still lingered, the pepper-smell wavering. The girl's stomach growled, hungrily; her chest felt light.
And she knew she could never have him.
But she didn't stop trying.
She never could.

And when she woke, she felt heavy.
Nothing had changed.
Nothing had happened.
And when she placed a hand on her chest,
nothing was gone.
And she closed her eyes again,
hoping she'd lose her heart all over again.
