"Well its not the most intricate fishing technology ever but it should get the job done," said Sharpner as he admired his handiwork.

"Don't use big words in front of the kids to boost your own ego," said Erasa having the gut feeling that Sharpner didn't even know what the word 'Intricate' meant.

Sharpner didn't say anything in retaliation as he put his construction to the side. While the ferry that they had stolen had had some basic fishing equipment on it considering how much they would likely need to catch he severely doubted that just a handful of rods would do. As such he had made another half a dozen using tree branches, floss he had taken out of the medical kit and anything sharp he could get his hands on.

"You know those lines are going to snap if anything bigger than a minnow puts up a struggle," said Gohan causing Sharpner and Erasa to jump back from the boys sudden appearance.

"Gohan! Where the hell's your shirt?" asked Erasa in shock as she looked at Cohan's sculpted figure. While mesmerizing she did manage to keep her mind temporarily out of the gutter.

"I found some fruit on my way back," answered Gohan. "Didn't really have anything to carry it in so I just used my shirt as a sack."

"Fair enough man," said Sharpner.

"Anyways, since you have the medical kit out is there a scalpel in there?" asked Gohan as he looked at the box next to Erasa.

"Should be," said Erasa as she peered at the contents before finding the item she was after. "Here you go."

"Thanks," said Gohan as he took the item from Erasa before lifting up his arm so that his wristband was at head height.

"What are you planning?" asked Sharpner.

"Considering I'm going to need your help with the kids I might as well give you guys a bit of my background," said Gohan as he used the scalpel to start turning the miniature screws that were holding the control panel in place. "You guys are aware that I'm strong right?"

"I had a feeling those abs weren't just for show," said Erasa.

"Trust me when I say that I'm not just your average kind of strong. My father told me when he was a kid he was able to pick up a car and toss it like a stone."

"What the hell?" said Sharpner in disbelief.

"Trust me, it's true," said Gohan as the 1st screw came loose. "I saw him and his friends do feats of strength people have become to feel was impossible. Strength, speed, endurance and a really stubborn ability to take more pain than you could imagine."

"This is starting to sound more like a manga than reality," said Sharpner. "Its all well and good you telling us this but do you have any proof?"

As the control panel fell away with the second screw having been taken out and the On/Off switch in sight, a cheeky grin cemented itself on Gohan's face. "Well, I seem to recall you asking me a couple days ago to join the Boxing Club," said Gohan as he flicked the switch, the bracelet deactivating and a rush of power surging through the boy's veins. The power boost while sufficient was not all of his power surging back to him at once and Gohan blamed the shonky wiring. After this was all over he really needed to get that fixed.

"Yea but you said that I'd only get you to join and after having watched you take out all those cops let me just say that I may be a little out of my league," said Sharpner recalling the bet the two of them had made. "Pretty sure with skills like that you could take on anyone."

"More or less," said Gohan casually as he began to screw the plate back into place. "Guess since the wirings damaged I didn't get all of my strength back. I'll need to get Bulma to have a look at it later."

"So what you're only like at half your strength at the moment?" asked Erasa.

Despite the fact that he was only at about three percent, Gohan merely nodded not wanting to give his friends too much information. Telling them that he only had enough strength to destroy the island they had landed on without so much as a second thought was not on his to do list. "So we need to make base camp further inland somewhere, since the rest of the class is going to be coming here today we're going to need to move the ferry and cover our tracks," said Gohan changing subjects. "If you guys want to escort the kids about five miles west of here you'll come across a sabertooth pack that will help protect you from any other threats."

"Whoa whoa whoa hold up a minute!" shouted Sharpner flabbergasted. "You're telling us to go towards the things that will make these kids their play toy because they will 'protect' them?"

"Dontcha trust me?" said Gohan with a cheeky grin. "The one that came here before was nothing but a cub, i just needed to make contact with the head of the pride."

"The head?" repeated Erasa.

"Yep, an old friend of mine," said Gohan. "In fact it looks like the entire lot of them have decided to spare you guys the time for tracking them down."

Turning his head to the side, Erasa and Sharpner followed his gaze towards the hillside Gohan had previously run from. For a few moments nothing happened before a single sabertooth tiger appeared. This one however was nothing like the previous one they had seen. The animal stood no fewer than twenty feet high and fifty feet long (not including the tail), a battle hardened creature with a number of scars adorning its body.

"Holy shit," cursed Sharpner as the children ran towards the ferry in fear, scrambling as they screamed in terror. As the intimidating figure walked towards them, more of the pack began to show itself as they climbed over the hillside though none of them came close to the sheer size of the other one. Dozens upon dozens of tigers made themselves visible as the leader let loose an almighty roar into the sky, nearly everybody covering their ears as the tigers came to a stop.

Gohan leapt down from where the ferry was resting, his feet landing in the shallows as the kids all looked up at him with pleading eyes. "Its alright kids," said Gohan calmly as he rubbed the top of Katie's head. Before they could warn him, the leader of the pack pounced forward, only three leaps carrying him fifty metres. A few of the children screamed in terror and the smell of fresh urine wafted in the air as Gohan ran forward, the two juggernauts charging at each other. They got closer and closer to each other before the sabertooth tiger stopped and rolled over as Gohan got within an arm's reach and began to scratch at the animal's fur.

"Who's a good boy?" said Gohan over and over as his hands rubbed away at the orange fuzz. As the children watched on confused, Sharpner and Erasa couldn't help but feel that they were going to be learning about their friend on this trip whether they wanted to or not.

...

No more than fifteen minutes had passed since Gohan had left the children along with Sharpner and Erasa with Mister Tiger, the giant creature happy to allow them to ride atop his back as he took them somewhere safe. Marc had been one of a few to notice that Gohan didn't seem to be coming with them and Gohan had merely told them all that he would catch up later once he hid the ferry they had used to get to the island.

Rummaging around a compartment inside the vehicle, Gohan was looking for a telescope feeling that considering the ferry was primarily used as a tourist ship that there would be one on there somewhere. After having scoured around for a little while he had found the item in question, a relatively new one considering the pristine condition of it making Gohan briefly ponder how much it cost to rent one of the ferry's for a fishing voyage on a daily basis.

Making his way to the roof, Gohan opened up the telescope and gazed out into the distance, looking at exactly what he had feared. "Looks like they're on their way," he said to nobody in particular as he gazed at the ferry that currently housed the rest of his class along with the bane of the children's existence. Judging by the speed that they were likely going considering the condition of the engines and the water currents they would make it to the island in roughly eighty seven minutes. As much as he would like to see how the rest of his classmates would survive on the island he was well aware of the fact that there were things much larger and much more dangerous than Mister Tiger residing on the small body of land. All things considered he'd have to keep his senses up on order to maintain an eye on both parties and if need be employ the use of Mister Tiger or members of his pack again in order to make sure the two groups didn't accidentally bump into each other.

Something however kept niggling at the back of his mind and that was why the school would deem that an island where giant carnivorous creatures roamed would be deemed a good a spot as any to send a bunch of high school kids on a camp. Was the school unaware of the dangers that were present or were they simply not informed prior? Likewise was Cornelia aware of the threat or did she have a way to combat it that they were unaware of?

Knowing that he had to get to the bottom of this one way or another, Gohan compacted the telescope and put it into his back pocket knowing that their group would likely get some use out of it. While he could look after all of them by himself he had to consider the possibility that this island would likely become the new home for these children as they would be hunted down once again if they were to step foot back on the mainland. If this was the case then how would he go about ensuring that these kids were prepared for the dangers that they would likely face? Part of him wondered if he should spend half a day flying to the Lookout and back to ask Piccolo his opinion but he didn't believe that the Namekian would have the best advice. If he was to go about this the way he felt he would have to, these children were going to be learning how to harness the ki within them if he was able to teach them how to access it. That along with basic survival skills such as hunting and gathering would be crucial. Erasa could likely teach some of the elder children the basics of first aid while Sharpner could teach basic combat tactics to those who could fight.

He would have to speak with Sharpner and Erasa before making an executive decision as both of them would want what was best for the children as well. Deciding that he would leave these thoughts for later in the day, Gohan jumped off the top of the ferry and landed in the shallows before gripping at the base of the vehicle. Picking it up with ease, he hoisted it above his head and started making his way inland happy that nobody was able to see him. Unknown to him however upon the other ferry, Videl was looking through a telescope that she had found onboard and whilst ignoring the banter of her classmates was doing her best to keep conscious thought as she wondered just how strong Gohan was.
