Nothing Lasts Forever

It's morning and he wakes her with short, sweet kisses; and a longer, sensual kiss on her mouth.

It's not long before they've both undressed. They make love the entire morning. (After all, it is Valentine's Day.)

Her second gift is breakfast in bed. Third, flowers (her favorite: purple primroses.) Fourth, chocolates. And fifth, a diamond bracelet.

They would go out later, she knew, for a romantic dinner; then retire back to bed, making love again.

But, for now, they are enjoying each other's company.

Narcissa's eyes opened as sunlight streamed through her eyelids.

It was all a dream.

Lucius was still in prison.
