Summary: Happiness is about the simple things in life that can be found in a quiet café filled with the aroma of freshly baked pies. Oh, and coffee.

A/N: This came about when I was sitting in the office and the light fell softly over my table and across the floor. That mixed with how much I missed a witty TV show like 'Pushing Daisies'.

Happiness is sitting in the corner booth of a small café. The green and white tiled floors blending in smoothly with the walls and chequered cloth. Every table was surrounded by three to two rattan chairs that stood-by loyally and unwavering in its duty.

Standing out amongst the other more subtle decor was the cherry-shaped lamps that illuminated the place. The sunlight that weaved through the window blinds barely any contest to it but cast delicate shadows across the floor and the patrons.

Right behind the counter was man—a rather tall man—with a single white apron wrapped around his body as he laboured over his work. Pale pies gently laid into the ovens, as fresh and golden crusted ones were brought out to cool. Once cut, they bled of dark red cherries, the blues of berries, and the soft brown of apples.

A slice of this delight was placed before me by a small blonde woman. Her voice was as bright as the filling that mixed with the melting white vanilla smoothness.

Glancing at the Pie-Maker once more, he stood over an empty tray and smiled brightly at a dark haired girl who was not there a moment ago. She smiled back and brought with her a piece of plastic wrap and held it high up between their happy faces.

Whatever she had planned, I decided not to invade and came back to my own happiness.

Happiness is a slice of triple berry pie ala mode surrounded by the quietness of other people's joy.

Oh, and a cup of coffee.
