PE: Chapter 7

Meanwhile, back at the Pokémon daycare, we could see both Trevor and Rita sitting there on the floor, along with the elderly owners of the daycare. They were all being held back by two Rocket Grunts; apparently they were the ones calling the shots to the other grunts. Rita, Trevor and the elderly couple were forced to watch Team Rocket take the Pokémon right in front of them. The elderly couple was also hiding something from the sights of the gang…

"Y-You'll never get away with this!" Trevor shouted to the head Rocket Grunts.

"Oh really?" stated one of the head grunts back to them with a smirk, "What makes you think that?"

"Because evil never prevails!" Rita replied back in a brave tone.

The head grunts only laughed at what she said, "Listen kids, there ain't gonna be any heroes here today," stated the head other grunt.

Suddenly, the head grunts could hear a loud noise behind them, and when they turned around, they saw…

"A Torchic?" the head grunts questioned a little as a frown grew on their faces, "One of the Rookie grunts must've missed gettin' it," stated the first head one, "… Oh well, it's an easy catch for us!"

"Y-You will do no such thing!" shouted two voices from behind the Torchic as the two voices ran up to the Torchic.

"Tria?" questioned both Rita and Trevor with surprise. Indeed it was her; she had a mad look on her face. She also had an Eevee beside her, an Eevee with a funny-looking hat…

"What's this? A Pokémon trainer got through the front's defenses?" stated the second head grunt with a growl.

"Heh, no worries there," stated the first head grunt as he took out a pokeball from his pockets, "We'll stop her right here!"

"Oh, right!" the second grunt replied with a small laugh as he took out a pokeball as well, "Slipped my mind for a moment."

Soon the two head grunts threw the pokeballs into the air as two Pokémon came out of them; both of the Pokémon that came out were the same. They were bat-like creatures, bluish in color and had no eyes… You know, because they were bats.

"Zubats…" Tria muttered as she looked down to the Eevee and Torchic, "Do you think you two can take those Zubats down?"

"Of course we can!" the Torchic replied as Double D only nodded his head in agreement, not wanting to reveal his voice in front of the grunts.

~About two minutes of winning later… (… Because apparently I'm too lazy to type the scene for this small fight. *Puts on sunglasses* Deal with it.)~

"Mother of Mew!" gasped one of the head grunts as he and the other head grunt made their fainted Zubats go back into their pokeballs, "We've been beaten by a kid!"

"The Boss ain't gonna be happy about this…" growled the second head grunt in anger, "We're gonna have to retreat!"

The two head grunts started to run out of the building, but not before looking back to Tria and the two Pokémon that defeated them, "Team Rocket will never forget this encounter, girly!"

It was about five seconds after the head grunts (and the other grunts, I might add) left that Rita and Trevor came up to Tria from where they were, "Tria, you did it! You ran them off!" Trevor stated.

"Yeah, that was amazing!" Rita continued to praise.

"T-Thank you," Tria started to say before looking down to the Torchic and the strange Eevee, "But I don't think I would've been able to do much without their help."

"Oh, that's right!" both Trevor and Rita stated as they looked down at the Pokémon with Tria, "Where did they come from?" asked Rita.

"They both came to help me when they saw me in trouble with one of those grunts," Tria stated, "The Eevee is Double D, and the Torchic is, umm…" she paused for a second before turning to the Eevee named Double D, "What is the Torchic's name?"

"I don't know, I haven't had a chance to ask yet," replied Double D, much to the surprise to Tria's friends and the elderly daycare couple. Double D turned to the Torchic and asked, "What is your name?"

"… The name's Evelyn," the Torchic replied to him.

"Evelyn?" stated Double D, "That's a nice name."

Evelyn seemed confused by his attitude for a slight second before replying, "Err… thanks, I guess…"

"Wait, hold on a second here!" Trevor yelped a little as he pointed at Double D, "How can this Eevee talk?"

"I really don't know myself," replied Double D, dropping his ears slightly as he did, "From what I've noticed, most, if not any other Pokémon can talk like me…" he paused for a moment to reflect on what he said, 'Maybe because I'm originally a human being, and my vocal chords are still intact because of that…?'

"Well well, it looks like your Pokémon love you very much, young lady," stated the daycare lady as she looked to her husband, who only nodded his head in understanding way, "Perfect for raising this Pokémon egg."

"W-What…?" gasped Tria softly in disbelief as Trevor made a slacked jaw in disbelief as well, "You want me to have it…?"

"Yes," stated the daycare man as he picked up the egg, which was hidden behind the counter to where the gang from before could not find it, "Besides, a Pokémon egg needs to stay with someone who already has Pokémon, so it can eventually hatch."

"Oooh, that's right," Rita mused a little before looking to Trevor, "Looks like you're out of luck, Trevor."

"… Yeah, I figured that one out quickly," Trevor replied to her in a low voice.

The daycare man soon handed the strange Pokémon egg to Tria, who took it with a small smile on her face; it was slightly warm to the touch, meaning it was close to hatching, but still a bit a distance away for doing that, "T-Thank you, sir."

"It's not a problem, young lady," the daycare man replied back with a bit of a hearty laugh at the end of his sentence, "It's just nice to see such kind youngling's like you to come and help us."

Meanwhile, back with the two Pokemon to Tria's feet, we could see Double D looking up at the egg with intrigue in his eyes, 'My, what an interesting egg…' he thought, 'I wonder what kind of Pokémon is inside it…?'

"… Hey, Double D," stated Evelyn to him as he turned to her, "Looks like you got yourself a trainer now. Good for you."

"Huh?" questioned Double D in confusion in a low voice, so the others would not hear, "What do you mean? You're not coming with us?"

"Meh, it's not my kind of thing to stay in a team," Evelyn replied back to him, but then paused for a moment to rethink something, "… But I guess I can tag along with ya and this kid until you're adjusted to this place, 'kay?"

"Really?" gasped Double D with surprise, but was quickly masked away, "I guess that's a good idea for now."

"Hey Double D, Evelyn," stated Tria as the two Pokémon looked up to their new trainer, "L-Let's go back to my home, maybe we can find out some things on what to do."

"I agree," replied back Double D as Torchic chirped a little as her response.

Mother of Mew! I've actually updated this! D8

Ah, well... Sorry about that, folks. I had a long writers block on this story. Maybe now I can get to the next chapter which will, indeed, involve Ed! 8D Stay tuned for that when it happens... XD
