As officers in the United states Air Force, Matthew Scott and Tamara Johansen had always thought themselves a part of something. Serving their country offered direction and the opportunity to learn from more senior officers. They had been thrilled by their assignments to Icarus base under Colonel Young, an experienced SGC officer, respected and admired by the men and women under his command.

Privately, Matt and TJ wondered if perhaps the Colonel was more scrambled than anyone knew by the injuries he received during the evacuation onto Destiny. If they didn't know better, they'd never have known he was the man they had looked up to and, in TJ's case, might have loved.

Despite their misgivings, they really had no choice but to support Young. There was no way for anyone to replace him and Matt, a Lieutenant, was the next ranking officer on ship. Of course, Wray thought she should be in charge and Rush…well, Rush was up to something.

Telford wanted to take command from Young, but after the whole thing with the Lucian Alliance and the fact that Telford was kind of a douche bag to everyone, his authority was a bit tenuous. At least Young would listen to reason on occasion and, through some fortuitous twist of fate, seemed fond of Eli, who generally wanted what was best for everyone.

For now, all they could do was wait and watch and hope their CO didn't lead them all to their deaths.
