I live by the sword, and die by the sword
I rule my life to my own accord
A sword that will soften, then pierce like a knife
A sword that could possibly take my own life
But I made a vow, and I must see it through
I won't bother to explain all the details to you
I travel alone and seldom make friends
I do naught but right, so I can't make amends
Nobody knows me - and those who do, don't
No one talks to me - and those who would, won't
I am mysterious, slinking through dark
Traveling through countries and making my mark
Leaving unnoticed, on some new adventure
Bound strong to no where, uphold no indenture
Now I'm on a journey, traveling with eight others
We've grown so close, we're almost like brothers
But our journey has failed, the Ring left alone
And I'm left to wonder if I'll reach my throne
Two of the hobbits were captured and taken
Boromir - killed, his bravery shaken
Called me his king and told me I'd fail
I told him I wouldn't - I'll continue the tale
We'll rescue the hobbits, or my name's not Strider
Or Aragorn, as the former is only a Rider
I've made up a lament, a lament for someone
For Hobbits, for Gandalf, for Boromir...no, no one
A lament for me, for Strider, perhaps
Or maybe for someone, as time will elapse
Legolas, Gimli, come now, it's late
We'll rest for a moment, and morning await
The tale will continue, the story unfold
We'll live happily ever after...
So I'm told.
