One shot Rated M Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot.

Summary: Kagome and inuyasha have a fight about kikiyo once again kagome runs off only to bump into the dreaded half brother.

''She's dead Inuyasha DEAD! Why can't you see that!'' The young miko once again trying to convince her dog eared friend that Kikiyo was not meant to be, her soul was only borrowed from its new host to give the appearance of life. ''I know that but I love her, I can't help it I just do, I always have!'' Inuyasha replied, he fists clenched at his sides. Kagome had finally had enough of it, she was there willing to be with him and all he could do was run after his dead love every time he picked up her scent. What was a girl to do? her emotions broke through as she ran off crying into the woods.

"No more. I won't do it anymore that stupid flopped eard ass hat Arrg!" She slowly sank deeper into the forest, the lush green smoldering into black. not realising how far she had gone until she found herself lost. ''Oops.'' She finally stopped crying as she came to the realisation that she had no idea where she was.

''Lord Sesshomeru! Where are you going? Please let me come with you!'' The old toad like creature begged his master. He had been hopping from one foot to the other in front of the western lord to gain his attention to no avail. ''No" the silver haired god like figure looked off into the distance, he had caught an interesting scent on the wind that evening but it was tinged with sorrow. "You stay, look after Rin. I will be back in due time'' was the masters solid answer. The imp like toad creature yelped at his sturn tone, his head bowed down shoulders slack in defeate ''Yes my lord'' came the reluctant reply. The scent he had detected close by, it was intoxicating and he knew she was alone.

Kagome believing she had no chance of finding her way back, decided to set up a camp on her own. The surrounding trees kept the wind from her bare skin as she worked on the preparations to build a fire. It was a good job she had brought her bag with her, without it she would have had to go out searching for raw materials. Finally she managed to get the fire started to cook some dinner, luckily the cause of her pain has not ransacked her bag of all ramen yet. A pang of jealousy shot through her. He must be with her now, doing this she was not yet ready for. Was this what life had planned for her? Loneliness, anguish and disappointment.

The ramen was good, chicken flavour. Not her favorite but it was tasty nonetheless. It was late and the cold was drawing closer, she decided to unroll her sleeping bag and get some rest and try to forget todays heartbreak. But then she felt something, her skin prickled all her hair standing on end, someone or something was there watching her. Fear filled her heart. Could it be a demon, a monster or worse, men. The feeling only grew as a figure began to emerge from the tree line.

It was not a monster, nor was it a man. "Lord sesshomaru!" she gasped in surprise and a small amount of relief. His silver silky hair danced softly in the wind, his presence was intimidating for sure but also made her feel at least a little safe. At least nothing else would approach with him there. Yet there was something off about him from their last encounter his eyes were usually colder, harder but now they seemed tinged with something more, something that excited her but at the same time terrified her. What was that look he was giving, she had not seen it before on him or anyone for that matter. For a moment she was paralised lost in his gaze.

"Where is the half breed?" he startled her with his sudden enquiry, surely with his enhanced senses he would have a better idea of Inuyasha's whereabouts than she. " having his fill of dead flesh i would imagine" her abrupt answer surprised him, not that he let it show. She continued carefully " and what brings you to this part of the forest you're Lordship?" he she didn't expect a reply if she was honest maybe a 'Hn' as his usual response to all mundane questions. He was silent pondering the question for a minute, " this one believes it is you." the shock on her face amused him, he had been following the delightful scent that led to this small clearing where he found her alone, though he was surprised by the smell of a female in heat had come from her, a human woman, his half brothers human woman to be precise.

"And why would you be looking for me?" she was suspicious now and very on edge, was he here to kill her after all? Her nerves were on fire, his look had turned smoldering, a sudden change to his eye colour made her jump, it was only there for barely a second but she saw it, the demon red that Inuyash's eyes turn to when he loses control. This was the end for her, she knew it, she shut her eyes tight to concentrate on her abilities, if he was going to attack her she wasn't going down without a fight. When nothing happened for a full 2 minutes she dared a glance. He was gone, her eyes wide she scanned the area in front of her. She still sensed him, he was still here, slowly she turned around to find him closer than before and he seemed to be in pain, his face was contorted his palms clenched. "Sesshomaru? Are you...ok?" worry marred her pretty face. He wasn't there to kill her, maybe it is her help he needed.

"You should run" it was said as a whisper but the impact of those words stunned the young miko. "Run?, are you going to hurt me?" she prayed she had interpreted it wrong. His control was slipping, he knew he would hurt her if he could not suppress his beastial urges. If she were but a demon it would not have been an issue, but she was not, she was all too fragile, he was using every ounce of discipline he had to stop the beast within taking over, she moved closer to him, trying to assess if he was injured, she lifted her hand to his face, using the back of it she gently placed it on his smooth porcelain forehead to check for a temperature, he swiftly stopped her claiming her wrist in his clawed hand, his eyes now wide open and glowing red, she gasped and fell back onto the thankfully soft grass, his hand releasing her as she fell.

Her shock was evident on her face. Sesshomaru was panting hard "I..I told you...run" his breathing was staggered as he waged an inner war that he was clearly losing. She didn't need telling again, scrabbling to her feet she tore into the dense foliage of the forest running as her life depended on it, and it very well could.

He could feel his beasts excitement, he may have just doomed her, the hunt excited the monster within him to no end. She was pray now just a morsel to be devoured, he didn't want this, not now, his attraction to the girl had frightened him before but now his fear was on a different level, if he couldn't tempa his savage instincts she would end up dead. He held on as long as he could stand but he was no match for pure instinct. His eye glow intensified as he raised his head to take in a deep breath, he could taste her intoxicating aroma beckoning him, he let it fule his desires, the hunt had begun.

The panic in her veins pushed her natural instincts, the purifying power of a full fledged priestess was bubbling to the surface to her aide. It strengthened her muscles heightened her senses, it was like a split of herself it felt her need for protection, true terror and rose to guard her. She knew if she was caught it was the end for her, she stood no chance against such a force. He wasn't nicknamed 'killing perfection' for nothing. Her feet had never performed so well before dodging trees as she ran, thorns tore at her arms as she fled through the forest, the cuts almost immediately healing with her power on high alert. She was begging to exhaust herself, her lack of training was showing. Being thrown into feudal japan and immediately putting herself in danger left no room to practice first.

She felt him before he reached her sight, his notorious poison whip flaying the earth before her, rocks and debris flying about her she leapt through it to escape his reach, it was too late, his clawed fingers wrapped around her ankle bringing her harshly to the ground. His snarling call echoing throughout the entire westen land as he caught his prey. This was it, the end, she was as good as dead. Thoughts of home brought tears to her eyes, she would never see her family again, pain engulfed her from the fall, she had blood seeping from the back of her head. Her miko powers trying desperately to heal the wound, she closed her eyes tight preparing herself for the killing blow. But it never came. She dared a look at her current position. He was hovering above her his own eyes tightly shut with contorted pain etched into his face. She took the chance to attempt a break for freedom.

Her head throbbed as she turned on her side to scramble out from his dominating position. His eyes flashed open, the red still prominent, but the struggle for control was obvious. His hand sprang to her neck to hold her in place "stop!" it was not her death he desired, she was starting to understand. It was submission. If she gave him it would he let her go? 'No' she didn't think so. Thinking back to something she had learned at school. This was how wild dogs reacted to a potential pack mate. He didn't want to kill her. His baser instincts wanted her in his pack, with Inuyasha rejecting her she was packless, and fair game now. But how she struggled to remember. How do you show submission to an enraged alpha male, his grip grew tighter nearly cutting off her air flow. Then it struck her.

She raised her head slightly, this was worth a shot if it would save her life. Kagome turned her head to the side showing him her exposed neck, praying it would work. It did, his grip loosened but he did not release her. She let out a breath in relief. Sesshomaru brought his nose to her exposed flesh taking her in, memorising every element of the moment. Her eyes grew wide as he trailed his tongue along her neck to her ear nibbling slightly at it. Her head was starting to heal from her own power. It was good she had submitted it had saved her life, but now she had allowed herself to be taken in by another pack...there was no going back, even if Inuyasha changed his mind, he would have to fight his brother now just for an audience with her.

Just as she had accepted this was her life now, even thoughts of embracing it. Sesshomaru was much more formidable than his brother and if she could convince him to help her, then the quest for the jewel shads would end much faster and she could go home and forget this whole adventure ever happened and heal her broken heart. But Sesshomaru wasn't releacing he, even after he had finished scenting her neck he had not let her up. An intense fear began to grow once more she hoped he didn't want what she thought he did, she was not ready or willing.

Try as he might he could not gain control back and knew what his beast planned to do to her, his internal scream did nothing to stop him. He looked on in horror, she would hate him for this. His own heart ache was killing him as he watched himself rip away her clothes. She would be claimed by him in body and soul, taking her freedom from her. Since the day he tried to kill her he had gained respect for this small but fierce human, he watched her grow and change as countless horrors fell upon her. He kept his stoik distance, never revealing his true emotion, to do so would be a dishonor, much like the dishonor his half brother had done upon her by rejecting her for a dead clay doll. His affection for this untrained raw power house gained leaps and bounds seeing her interactions with his young ward 'Rin'. now here he was, destroying her, snuffing out the flame he had come to care for.

The terror she felt had no equal, she thought it was over but this, this was her true end, he was claiming her. Inuyasha had once told her of his plans to claim Kikiyo and what it entailed, it could be a loving ritual full of passion and delight, but this was no such thing, this was horror, pain, complete destruction. He was brutal, no love or tenderness. Ripping away her innocence like it was a mere inconvenience. As he reached the pinnacle his sharp fangs punctured her neck ripping into her. Her senses were on fire at that moment the pain she had felt was intensified and her screams could be heard for miles around, stray demons fled in fear. But there was one thing amis. She felt something through the pain something wet and warm dripping onto her shoulder as he fed on her flesh. Tears...actual tears, he was crying.

How could it be, he was taking control back somehow in the moment of claiming his mate a window had opened, a tender palm cupped her cheek as he pulled away, she could see his beautiful amber eyes, wet with tears. He gently held her to himself licking her wounds to heal them. Both crying their trama out. He nuzzled her neck affectionately, praying one day she could forgive him, they had eternity now to come to grips with that night. She was his now, truly his, but at what cost.
