Ramblings with Ranger: Yeah, so this is rather depressing... I apologize for that. This is based off of the song "You Can't Take Me" by Bryan Adams from the movie Spirit. This is a companion to my other drabble, Never.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Inheritance Cycle, Bryan Adams or Spirit.

He fought. He ran. He was recaptured. He fought. He ran. He was caught. He was tortured. He left signals. They destroyed his signals. He cursed. He screamed. He refused to go willingly. He refused to go quietly. Murtagh refused to be broken.
He knew he had to fight. He had to fight another fight. He would not become tired. He would run again. This time, this time he would make it. But he was still being carried back to him. It was not right. He had to get back. He had to get back to the Varden. There, there was some place safer.
They thought they could break him. Galbatorix thought he could break him. But he could not be broken; that was fact. Murtagh knew he could not be broken, he would not be broken. But he knew he would find a way to escape. Murtagh would not let Galbatorix beat him. Galbatorix would not win.
They pushed him. He pushed harder. They punched him. He knocked them out cold. He would never give up. Never. They couldn't take him. Murtagh was free.
He beat at the stone walls that caged him. When did it all go wrong? He didn't know what was going on. What was binding him? What had him in fetters? It was unseen. It was unwanted. This was not where Murtagh should be.
He knew he had to fight again. One more fight. He would fight with all his strength. The Twins had better move. Galbatorix had better back down.
They couldn't chain him.
He was free.
